Святитель Спиридон Тримифунтский - один из самых почитаемых святых во всем мире.Мощи святителя Спиридона покоятся на Керкире, в храме «Агиос Спиридонос», двери которого всегда открыты. Четыре раза в год мощи выносят для крестного хода, а раз в полгода «переодевают» (перед Пасхой и накануне дня памяти святого, празднуемого 12 (по н.ст. – 25) декабря), то есть буквально меняют одежду и обувь. Факт изнашиваемости одежды и обуви на мощах святого научно подтвержден, но не объяснен. Верующие считают, что он много ходит по свету и помогает всем просящим, вот одежда и изнашивается.
