Protego only shares links in your messages with external servers to determine if they are suspicious or not. Protego does not share anything else with any external server.
Application permissions
Protego needs the following permissions to function:
- Accessibility: this allows the app to read content of your messages on SMS and WhatsApp to protect you from suspicious links and scams. Links in your messages are shared with trusted external servers. Your conversations are not shared with any external servers.
- Access contact: this allows the app to read your contact list to ensure only messages from numbers not in your contact list are analyzed. Your contact list is not shared with any external server.
- Overlay permission: This allows the app to show you which messages or links are scams right near the corresponding messages.
