There is a wide variety of gameplay through various challenge modes and they've done a great job with the story elements of all the character development. You get rewarded for grinding this game, even if you don't pay for the rewards. Also, the upgrade and enhancement system for your characters is very engaging. WOR has done an great job of building depth into the 'tower defense' genre.

This is the only game that I quit and then had a lot of fun after coming back to it later. The devs fixed the issue of needing too much screen time. Background fighting is quite convenient now. In general, the game is really fun and strategically challenging. The characters and graphics overall are also very appealing. The only problem that persists is the super expensive IAPs. Would be 5 starts if prices were more accessible.

Update: I've now played the game about 4 months. The best part about the game is the graphics. You can get through a good part of the game without good legendary heroes. Once you hit that wall, progress comes to a halt. Not only do you need specific legendary heroes to progress, you need very good gear. I hate the gear system and how you have to roll on stats. You spend way too much time making small advancements. Game basically becomes work and not fun. I'm quitting.

The game overall is awesome and especially for new players...there is so much content. I think the real problem comes later on in the end game portion. At some point you're going to hit a wall, either because you don't have a certain hero or because you don't have good enough gear. The drop rates for both are really bad. The hero drop rates are one thing, but the poor drops for gear are ridiculous. You can claw your way to the final gear raid stages, farm for weeks, and get nothing of value.

After playing for about 5 months, I've gotten to know the game well enough to reduce my original rating. One of my biggest peeves is the auto battle. It can be horribly inconsistent. One day, it works, and the next, it fails, making you redo the fight over again even if you haven't changed gear. The game is so heavily reliant on pulls that they literally determine if you progress or not. Not strategy or skill, just who you have in your roster. The weekly events burn you out and don't even change

The game is really fun with some unique game mechanics. If not for the noticeable difficulty spike and the lack of convenient features such as unlimited auto battle, this would have a higher rating. I'm I'm still playing though because, like I said it's really fun. We'll let's see wins out at the end, the bullshkt the game throws at you or the actual good game underneath it all.

Diamond players can't play this. Recently they have changed the difficulty of getting characters. I could spend a couple hundred dollars a month and you get the characters. This month I've spent nearly a grand. And didn't get any of the characters I wanted. I really love this game but, it looks like it's time to go. When The Big Spenders can't even afford your game. You've let greed takeover

The game has been fantastic, and that includes players who are f2p. However, since the latest update, I'm not sure what has happened, but it seems the gear drops are 90% health, healing, defense. 1 in 70 was a crit rate, I counted, and not many more attack bonus. I've been grinding for 3 days now, and I have zero usable gear. It is deflating and makes one want to turn it off. I hope you can fix this problem and we can get back to a great game. Thanks
