Easy to get to work, very comfortable for controlling local music and video library. I love that streaming from youtube works so well. I can however not get all features to work. I always get a "could not find vmr remote control" error, despite the fact it is running on my computer. I had a look at the FAQ, but could not fix it - any help would be appreciated.

Works amazingly well! Had one or two times where the app took a second to reconnect, but mostly it works seamlessly. There is no detectable lag in the controls. Was happy to pay $6 for no ads forever. Would like buttons to skip by 3 or 5 or maybe 10 seconds, especially in the controls notification. Tip: to show the controls even while your phone is locked, go to "Notifications on lock screen" under "Privacy" in your phone's settings, and make sure that silent notifications are hidden.

Been using this for a while now (paid). It has several little bugs and half developed features, but on the whole it works pretty well. The notification is a battery killer, and stops expansion of other notifications. Directory browser forgets it's place within the current directory. Reconnect fails first time, every time. Some reconnects kill playback. SMB browsing requires a mapped drive (Windows) No (obvious) way to switch renderer/chromecast (may be a VLC limitation?) But it does work! :-)

"Could not find VLC!" Strange, even after following all the suggestions that didn't change. And the devs seem to think that any problem means the user is the broken part. YES I installed the VMR helper app. It connects, I can wiggle the mouse for a few short moments until I get nagged about making a purchase. I changed the port, and now VLC launches on its own, but the app still does not recognize it is running.

Love the app! The full version is reasonably priced so I bought it. I used smartphone remotes before but this one offers most functionality One point of feedback: the app doesn't work on my galaxy watch 5. I just keep getting the prompt "Launch app". I tried changing permissions, redownloading the app, restarting my devices, and more. Nothing seems to fix the issue even though other apps sync well with my watch

There's a couple of suggestions for improvement: - If it were possible to see the names of subtitles and audio track in the app (I.e. "track 1 selected" or "English subs selected"); - file name in player view is truncated, I expect to see full; - remember last folder on PC; - when I click on the middle icon, I expect to jump directly into VLC controls, but instead it shows menu with Netflix, YouTube, etc.; - I already provided the rating for the app, but it keeps asking for it

Mostly great. Responsive and useful. I'm a little baffled by all the lost real estate on the screen though. Could we have much larger buttons and forgo the huge blank space? In general, the UI is a little cryptic. EDIT: Using that space for mouse controls sounds great! Though maybe buttons could be enlarged just a little in the process? ;)

I'm continuing to be prompted to review this app. I have nothing to add or retract from my review below. The app works flawlessly everyday. An excellent app. To date I have not had a problem with the feature I use which is to control VLC on a Windows 10 powered PC. Windows users: It may be tricky to set up for a computer novice. Instructions are good, yet if you are not using Windows firewall in favour of another program it may be difficult if the associated documents are not up to standard.
