The HP SDS Service App is intended for technicians that service HP printers and MFPs.

This app enables the HP SDS black box feature when paired with an MPS Management software solution that supports this HP SDS functionality. The HP SDS black box feature will help enable service technicians to do their jobs more efficiently by giving them insight into issues that have occurred on a device that has lost the ability to communicate to the network. In this situation, the service technician will use his Android mobile device to connect to the HP SDS black box port via a USB cable. Once the Android device is connected to the printer or MFP, the HP SDS Service App will collect device logs, upload them to the SDS cloud for analysis, and then allow the technician to see the results of that analysis through their SDS-supported MPS Management solution.

The app is supported on Android version 5.0 and beyond.

To maximize the the number of scenarios where this app can collect logs from a printer or MFP (including the collection of logs from printers or MFPs that no longer have power, in some cases), please install on an Android device that supports USB on-the-go technology.
