Completely useless. Just short of impossible to connect app the thermostat. The certified installers didn't even know how to do it. The app stayed connected for a couple days then lost the connection. Not worth the trouble to try it again. Compare that to the Resideo app for my Honeywell thermostats at my cabin. Fast connection and never a glitch in 3 years of use.

The app is a little glitchy. Connecting to the water heater is cumbersome and not very intuitive. It requires jumping through many hoops. For example, you have to go through your phone's Wi-Fi settings, disable your cellular network, flip breakers on and off, and even then, it still doesn't connect half the time. I'm paraphrasing, but you get the gist.

Creating an account was almost impossible. After the app crashed more than several times, I was able to finally create an account. The app crashed if you tried to edit the auto fill information if it was incorrect. It also crashed after selecting the country. Validation also did not work for email, only for mobile. As far as the inherent functionality of the app, it seems to be fine and accomplishes basic monitoring.

No issues getting app setup and shows water heater status. However, when changing modes or overriding the schedule, the system often gets stuck and won't transition. I have woken to cold showers when the schedule didn't transition to the next period. Sometimes it holds the previous period and heats water when I don't need it, which is frustrating since my electric provider is Time of Use based. I am unsure vacation mode actually does anything. It has potential but needs too much care and feeding

After using this app for a number of years, and going through all the updates where every update breaks something else and none of them ever worked 100% correctly, I needed to change my password on my router.....BUT!! guess what... it is now impossible to use this app "Rheem EcoNet"or the other "EcoNet" app to reconnect with any of my routers. The only way to reconnect was keep same password on the router and same SSID. ... it is now impossible to make any router changes in this water heater

I just had a Rheem water heater installed and have tried many times to download the ECO app and create an account. However, the app will not allow me to create an account. I read a number of reviews for the app and many people have the same issue. I call the app support number, they created an account for me, but then found out that it still wouldn't work. They determined the app will not work on WiFi settings using "WPA3-Personal" security setting, but instead can only work on "WPA2-Personal" s

Difficult to install. Took a couple hours and call to support, who told me you can't connect it with a Pixel 9. All it's good for on my water heater is setting temps and schedules. Shows set temp but not actual temp. "Health" section shows accessories I don't have installed (yeah, I know). But remarkably, not any error messages generated by the heater. For those I have to go into the garage and look at the control panel. You literally can't tell if the unit is working by lookin as the app.

Just installed WH today and finally was able to connect to wifi... this app would not let me change anything. Opened another EcoNet app (the one without the word Rheem) and so far seems to react correctly... Updated 12/16/24...Been offline about a week after our posted the initial review...STILL won't connect even with Rheem support on the phone for over a half hour... this app SUCKS!!!
