This is a fork of the Syncthing-Android wrapper for Syncthing that brings major enhancements like:* Folder, device and overall sync progress can easily be read off the UI.
* "Syncthing Camera" - an optional feature (with optional permission to use the camera) where you can take pictures with your friend, partner, ... on two phones into one shared and private Syncthing folder. No cloud involved. - FEATURE CURRENTLY IN BETA STAGE -
* "Sync every hour" to save even more battery
* Individual sync conditions can be applied per device and per folder
* Recent changes UI, click to open files.
* Changes to folder and device config can be made regardless if Syncthing is running or not
* UI explains why syncthing is running or not.
* "Battery eater" problem is fixed.
* Discover other Syncthing devices on the same network and easily add them.
* Supports two-way synchronization on external SD card since Android 11.
Syncthing-Fork for Android is a wrapper for Syncthing that provides an Android UI instead of Syncthing's built-in Web UI. Syncthing replaces proprietary sync and cloud services with something open, trustworthy and decentralized. Your data is your data alone and you deserve to choose where it is stored, if it is shared with some third party and how it's transmitted over the Internet.
Goals of the fork:
* Develop and try out enhancements together with the community.
* Release the wrapper more frequently to identify and fix bugs caused by changes in the syncthing submodule
* Make enhancements configurable in the UI, users should be able to turn them on and off
Comparison between upstream and fork at the time of writing this:
* Both contain the syncthing binary built from the official source at GitHub
* Syncing functionality and reliability depends on the syncthing binary submodule version.
* Fork gets along with upstream and sometimes they pick up my improvements.
* Strategy and release frequency is different
* Only the wrapper containing the Android UI is addressed by the fork.

This app is incredible. I love syncthing. It didn't used to be an issue (while using this app), but I keep getting sync-conflict obsidian-notes files being created. I don't think it's this app bc/ u guys are clearly pros, but I only have a single other device that I ever operate syncthing with in the relevant circle. Thank you for bringing a better Syncthing app to Android - please pls hold the highest due diligence to keep it as such. You all are highly appreciated. Love sent on Github <3

2nd review: Sorry for the late reply, I notice the migration release note and go ahead backup and then import. No loss of settings, I'm now at the signed release. Thanks for the ever quick release following Sycnthing desktop. 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽 Syncthing is really my main way of syncing, so I need to carefully think of what to do when any changes happened to the release.

Awesome and free! It syncs perfectly. It takes maybe a little bit more time to figure out how to set it up correctly compared to most cloud based syncing apps but nothing too hard to learn. And the best one if you value open source and privacy

It's Syncthing. It just works. If you don't like the android UI there's the web GUI in the sidebar. I'd love to see a setting to make the web GUI the default view when opening. Edit: I didn't realise Web UI is read-only, that clears up a lot!

All working good, unless not working at all. For some reason it keeps quitting the app after some time on pixel 9 pro. Battery permissions are set to allow background work. And once Android wrote that app keeps quitting (don't remember exact wording of message)

Just one thing that really annoys me is that it sometimes shows incomplete sync while everything is actually synced, after removing and re-sharing the folder with other devices it fixes jtself. Aside that it just works.

New issue: Crashes in background on Android 15 (Pixel 8 Pro) unfortunately. After a few hours, the app just closes silently in the background OR Android gives a pop-up that the app isn't responding and asking to force-close it or wait for it to respond. Still works fine other than that. -edit- never mind, seems to be a known issue due to Play Store restrictions, see the Github issues...

Does the job well. The UI is slightly confusing as there's not much information about what a particular switch/button does sometimes but the app does it's job the way it has to. The UI could've been a little more user friendly, offering more information and easier guide. I like the app though 👍
