Purchased a 1-day pass and successfully installed the app + enabled the NFC feature prior to our trip. Unfortunately the app was not usable: Could not get NFC to work (using a recent Samsung S21) and got a constant stream of server error messages. Had to call the support desk 3 times and they were definitely kind and helpful but overall Velib is an extremely painful experience, so would not recommend at all...

Unfortunately the app is not usable with a combination of app and server error messages. I tried to set up a new account about ten times but there was an app error each time. At this point I gave up on the app and tried using a kiosk on the street instead. The kiosk was stuck on the BIOS boot screen so it was also unusable. I've never had issues like this with bikeshare systems in other cities. It was a huge disappointment not to be able to experience Paris as I had planned for this trip.

Can't sign up. Told there is a problem connecting to the server, despite I have tried two different IP address. The app was last updated as of 7/22/2024. Unbelievable. The sign up process cant be continued even if briefly exiting the app to just check something else. Please fix. Merci boucoup

It's generally a good service and unlike what other comments say, most bikes are in good shape. HOWEVER 1) electric bikes are not very useful as the pedal assist is not very strong, so I always use the mechanical ones which are fine. 2) As a foreigner, I can't add my card to the app. So every time I want a bike I need to use my credit card, which means every time there's a "pending" 300€ added to my card, which is a lot, because these don't go away quickly (I still have some from a week ago).

I’ve been trying to subscribe to an offer for months, but the website keeps redirecting me to the login page. This bug has been ongoing with no resolution, which shows a complete lack of attention to user experience and basic functionality. As someone with software development experience, I can confidently say this is one of the worst production bugs I’ve encountered. It reflects poorly on the development team and their management practices.

I'm trying to register before traveling to Paris, but for days it is saying "oops, error". After days I managed to do it. The secret problem was a comma in my password. Amateur software developers🤮 Then I paid, got another error, my card was charged an I never got my pass. Impossible to contact to complain.🤮🤮🤮🤮

Unable to make payments through the app. Also, really hard to find bikes. Most annoying thing is when you zoom out on the map, and the bike count disappears.

On Andriod. Can't actually use the app or the bikes because I'm stuck in a loop where I can't subscribe to an offer because it thinks I'm not logged in (I definitely am), so when I log back in, it says I'm not subscribed to any offers. Then when I choose an offer again, it says I'm not logged in and repeats, before the app then crashes. Truly awful user experience. To add further insult, the touch screens at docking stations are totally unresponsive to touch, so are equally useless.
