Edit: hard to scroll in the catalog, it won't move and then the left drawer opens instead of scrolling. I will use the old UI until it is fixed. Does what it says it does and accurate at least to my measurements. Hopefully updates to the reference data will come as time goes on, but for my purposes the little bit of drift that must be present is negligible. Thanks for the quality app.

Good job! Makes celestial navigation simple! This app gets your position using Saint-Hilaire's Intercept method. It uses built-in data that appears to agree with the published Nautical Almanac and a Sight Reduction routine to get the angle-up to a celestial body as well as the true compass bearing to it from a selected lat/long near your estimated position. Doing this for two different nearby selected lat/long positions along with a sextant sighting of that celestial body and noting the time will give the distances between the selected positions and estimated position since a difference in angle equals a difference in distance. These two distances along with the selected lat/longs are used to get your true position.

You'll never understand our gratitude for having this app. In the old days, without this, he had to purchase a separate machine for his calculations which cost much more. This app is superb. I'm currently learning celestial navigation as a backup skill at sea for times when GPS can't always be relied upon. This app is excellent for checking my calculations quick and easily. I've just paid for the GPS facility as well to support the developer. Thanks for a very well produced app.

I just installed this as a sanity check on my calculations using table lookups for a class on celestial navigation. This is so much easier and more practical for real world navigation vs trying to deal with all of the lookups in 229 and nautical almanacs. I am impressed!

I tried using it and compared it to my calculations. The true azimuth is too far. My gyro bearing is 90° from our gyro repeater, but the app shows its 120°. That's a huge gap
