Lawnchair uses the AccessibilityService permission for optional support of making certain system functions more accessible, such as with desktop gestures, like turning the screen off. Lawnchair will automatically prompt you to enable this if it is necessary for your configuration; for many cases it is not! No data is collected from the AccessibilityService; it is merely used to invoke system actions.

Lawnchair uses the Device Administrator permission to lock the screen when a selected gesture is detected. This is optional and disabled by default.

I long considered this to be the best launcher for its expansive feature set, but it hasn't been maintained in years due to the devs focusing their efforts on a complete rewrite. You could get away using this on a phone that's years-old and/or running old Android, but it can inexplicably bug out on modern phones and I doubt most people in the market for a custom launcher are going to have the patience for that past the first couple of instances. I sure didn't, and so I sadly had to switch.

By far my favorite stock Android emulator. I came over from a Pixel to a Samsung Flip 4, now on a 5, and this is what made the experience palatable. Would enthusiastically and unquestionably give this five stars — and even pay for it! — but for one thing: Unfortunately, maybe it's the new phone, or the new Samsung UI, but I find the home screen keeps freezing, to an annoying degree. I have to lock the screen and unlock it to get the launcher to work. Really hope the dev looks into this! Thx!!

I really appreciate the customization options this launcher provides, but ultimately the bugs it was causing made using my phone a nuisance. The screen would often freeze up every time I swipe to another home screen page or swipe up to view all apps or open apps. I'd have to power off the screen to get it to respond again. Restarting the phone does nothing to mitigate these bugs.

Taking away a star because of a simple issue that's driving me crazy: if you set the desktop layout to dimensions that aren't 1:1 (i.e trying to set it to 6x5) it will later set itself to a 1:1 ratio (5x5 or 6x6). Please fix it, it's really annoying. Other than that, great launcher! It works well and has very good customizability. One feature that would also be nice is a "pull-up" dock like in the Microsoft launcher (instead of 2 rows showing at all times, it shows 1 and you swipe up for more)

Definitely a five-star application. It's light and easily customized. I really love that I don't have to have my icons splashed across my home screen. Just a touch of the home button opens the tray. At first, I was a bit apprehensive that it doesn't have a weather widget, but soon fell in love with its simplicity and ease of use. There are no unnecessary hard-to-configure bells and whistles, and even better, NO ADS. Would I pay for this app? SURE! It'd be worth it to keep it in development. As far as the weather widget, I simply installed YoWindow. Now I have a total package.

Convert from Smart Launcher's meltdown in January 2022. After 2 days of their update crashing my phone, I had to figure out an alternative. This works, is simple like the old SL layout, and lets me categorize apps. It doesn't do it for me, or have a sidebar menu navigation like SL. It is much leaner and most importantly, it works.

Something I've been looking for in a launcher lately is the ability to create folders in the app drawer so that my home screen is naked. I can do it with this but it would be more seamless if you could organize app drawer folders within the app drawer rather than going into launcher settings. This otherwise hits all the bells and whistles you'd want in a launcher.

I almost scrolled past this app because I thought the name as a joke. What a surprise! All this in a launcher and for free? Incredible! A couple of feature requests would be more gestures (swipe left and swipe right on the home screen) and more flexibility with the dock (different icon patterns or centering the icons when I have an odd number on one row and even on the other). But wonderful app as it is!
