Art for Memories is a heartfelt initiative launched in 2023 by a dedicated group of Rwandan artists led by King Ngabo, with the goal of preserving the memories of the victims of the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi in Rwanda. This project was born out of the need to offer Genocide survivors and families a meaningful way to remember and honor their loved ones through artistic expression and technology.

The Genocide against the Tutsi was one of the darkest chapters in modern history, leaving deep emotional scars for millions of Rwandans. Understanding the emotional and historical significance of these lost mementos, King Ngabo and his fellow artists came together to develop a platform that would help survivors safeguard and share their stories visually.
