This update brings a brand new version of the Neuroshima Hex app, completely replacing the previous version, which is not compatible with newer mobile devices. It introduces asynchronous cross-platform multiplayer mode and improved AI with 3 levels of difficulty.

By accepting the update, the old version of the game will be deleted from the device, and replaced by the new app. The new app comes with 4 basic armies: Moloch, Borgo, The Outpost, The Hegemony.

Users who purchased other armies in the old version of the app will temporarily lose the ability to play them in the new app. Those armies will be added to this app in future updates. Users who already purchased them in the previous app, will be able to download them for free. New armies will be also available for purchase to new players.

Control an army struggling for survival in the post-apocalyptic world. Choose one of the 4 unique factions—Moloch, Borgo, The Outpost, The Hegemony—and defeat your opponent in tactical warfare. Play solo against an AI opponent or against a human player in an asynchronous cross-platform multiplayer mode.
Prove that you have what it takes to survive:
March with the machines of Moloch, leading its army toward setting the new world order.
Become Borgo and unite the forces of the mutants who spread terror in the wastelands.
Lead The Outpost, humanity's last and only hope, and try to beat the machines in against-the-odds guerrilla warfare.
Be the boss of The Hegemony, a land of gangers uncaring about the fate of others, living only for violence and their mad entertainment.
Neuroshima Hex is a fast paced, tactical game for 1 or 2 players based on the well known tabletop board game by the same name. I was excited to see there was an update for this game, a favorite. Hope multilayer (even just more bots) has been unlocked. Nope, just an attempt to extract more money. I'd even buy it, but only once I had basic original function back. It's been years! 3 star rating is back to 5 when game is back. Perfection was mangled.

Updated September 2021 after the port to Portal Games. Feel really ripped off at not having access to the armies I bought previously. Also, the AI is now unplayably bad, even on hardest level. Feel like there are usability issues too. Really want a refund because the base game is so degraded. Original review 2013: Introduced to the basic game by a friend. Love the replayability, good balance, effective ai.

This was my favorite game. Played thousands of games. Purchased all the expansions. It was great for killing a few minutes, waking up your brain the morning, relaxing before bed, etc. Then, without notice or explanation, they forced an update that ruined the interface and, more importantly, took away all the expansions I had previously purchased to extort a second round of payments. That's customer abuse. I am certainly not going to pay again for expansions that may well be taken away.

I love this game. I have the actual board game as well and sometimes we will use this game just for rule clarification. Still, a solid game with lots of unique play through. EDIT: The new update removed all my purchased armies, the new graphics are hard to read, and the game plays much slower. Maybe someday it will be good again. I will update my review if/when that happens.

Don't buy this game unless you are a die hard fan and just want to practice. No scoring. No online play. No game platform to keep track of score. Not optimized for small screen. Old artwork. Interface is very clunky. I was lucky to have started with the iOS version which is great by comparison. Don't get me wrong it's still playable on Android just not worth paying for.

They just updated the game. I've lost all my previous purchases, I've lost all my favorite teams, I've played this game for going on 7 years across two platforms and have purchased all the teams two times over. The new game glitches, I can't play the teams I like, there is nothing mentioned about previous players getting their purchases back. This sucks. I'm sorry I can't rate it at a 0 stars right now.

20210926 S21+ Many changes from the initial revamped alpha. Tiles are easier to read, but still a little confusing. Its not easy to determine attack damage. Action tiles seem to work now e.g. heal, push, bomb. I only played red and blue so far. For some reason quick play sets the ai at medium and ignores the hard setting. I like the animations, some of the new control aspects, and hope this new version gets to release quality soon. Not sure what happened to my original post.

Ever since the UI redesign the game has been basically unplayable. Not to mention all of my DLC was removed. Also not to mention the game has had no updates AND you can't play 4-player AI games anymore. Also, hilariously, the game will let you, after selecting random armies, play against the same army. It's nearly impossible to play the game against the same army -- how do you know which pieces are yours or not? This game is really only playable digitally, and as neat as it is this is just bad
