I had to dock a star. I have loved this emulator for years. Ever since the last update the cheats have not worked. I put the zip file in my downloads folder and in my ROMs folder. Still not getting the cheats option in the menu. When I use my original iNes it works and syncs up and everything. I have not updated the app on my other device and it works fine. Hope there is an update soon to fix the cheat glitch.

What happened to the $2.99 I paid?! Why'd the price go up?! Not cool guys. 4 stars cuz of that. Now for the real review..... The emulator is amazing. You get all your ROMs in one easy to access library-style place! Fully customizable control interface with cool skins, resizing and more! Screenshots for your most recent savestates! An in-depth GG/GS/AR cheat code library for all your favorite games! Video filters. Audio enhancements. Easy-to-navigate menus. Enjoy VGBAnext! :D

Emulator itself works well, clean gameplay. But since playing yesterday I've had 2 instances of my saves not working. I saved both using a freeze state and in-game but when I've opened the app later on it's reverted back to a previous save and then overwritten the slot both slots with that previous save. Quite disappointing considering the price, will try turn off auto-save to see if this resolves it

I am also having the issue where the virtual buttons get corrupted and can only be fixed by reinstalling the app. Pixel 6 Pro on Android 12. The button graphics are not aligned with the button labels (like A in a rectangle), and the labels are clustered in the corners of the app. Settings to move the buttons don't work, and clearing app data doesn't fix it either. 5 stars when this bug is fixed as I love the emulator otherwise. Edit: the fix seems to have worked, thanks!

Again, out of nowhere, I go to open the app only to find the app reset itself. It's not really worth the hassle. It's been over a year since I've been able to complete a game on this app. Another year has gone by, and this app is still not properly functional on Pixel 4. App once again reset itself. This not taking into account that the on screen buttons aren't accurately displaying their location. Start, select, and ffwd are the entire button height off of where they are displayed. Just pirate.

It's true what some say about a learning curve. There were a few peculiarities, all will likely be ironed out in time. it plays flawlessly, the only permission it requires is the ability to access the files. That's really all I wanted. There are some features of other emulators I wish it had like different layout/appearance options for the control pad and being able to re-size the screen would be nice but honestly I can't complain. For what It is and the protection of my privacy 5 stars, EASY.

It works well, even with the ability to fast forward and have save states. However, I did find one issue. I cant access any roms from the SD card. It says I'm accessing the SD Card, but it's still internal. Kind of an issue when all my games are on my external memory to save space. Until this is solved, I'll still enjoy this emulator but I wont be recommending it.

If you plan on using this on nvidia shield I don't recommend it at all. The performance is laggy compared to other emulators which doesn't make sense since the hardware is there. Key mapping on shield controller doesn't work at all. You can assign keys but it will carry on using the default setup. You can forget key mapping quick save and quick load using the controller. I can't recall 100% if that's the case but I am not sure I saw a cheat input method. GBA.emu is the way to go for nvidia shield
