Worked really well for about 5 months. But coverage is minimal to non existent starting in november. Also, i've noticed that my vpn that i've used for years, will no longer work when on cell data.....will not connect at all when on cellular data. Also, I noticed other apps like natix drive cam, mapping apps, and wifi hotspot do not work on cell anymore. Which kind of defeats the whole purpose. Helium rugged their IOT mining community back in 2022 and we have not forgotten.

The service is decent, but the app and support are horrible. For the longest time the app required to install the dynamic certificate all the time. The app also stops mapping randomly and unless you're opening the app the time. I reached out to support and their solution was for me to leave the app opened on my screen all the time, how am I suppose to use my phone then? Then support just closes my ticket.

My son and I have been subscribers for several months and I would never switch back to the big providers. We are usually able to earn enough mobile rewards to cover the entire bill, and even on months we don't the savings is still amazing compared to a $200 AT&T or Verizon bill. Any time I've needed to use customer service they are friendly & get my issues fixed quickly. We even deployed an indoor hotspot at our house, helping to subsidize our bills even more. Highly recommend.

App keeps getting updated and causes mapping to fail at registering the necessary hexes to earn rewards. It was working well initially, earning rewards daily, but for the last several months the app has gone through several updates and has become extremely unreliable with mapping, failing to earn rewards. Rewards are not guaranteed so it's on us to keep checking that the mapping is actually registering every time the app updates (or doesn't update, needing us to manually update).

HM has an interesting concept, but the app updates seem to be poorly executed. There's always something buggy, And tech support is trained to gaslight the user into thinking they are the problem. But if you activate the discovery mapping and walk/drive at least 1-2 miles, you can usually earn enough MOBILE crypto to [mostly] cover the monthly bill. Developer forgets that the app is the front-facing part of HM...so when app features are broken, what does that say about how HM is governed????

Update 2024-10-16: Somewhat to my surprise, it only took a month for Helium to restore the ability to pay month-by-month with MOBILE, and they did an app redesign that I'm (so far) content with and seem to have fixed the issue with enhanced coverage having to be enabled every time I switch to the app, too. Only current issue I have is that My Usage seems very slow to load, if it loads at all, and sometimes the "back" function requires multiple taps.

Latest update brings back pay with crypto for both monthly and yearly plans, a better UI, better Hex tracking ( I don't have to open the app for it to properly work anymore), the annoying message to reinstall Dynamic coverage on every single app load is fixed, and to top it all off: the new UI is fresh as hell 😎. Good stuff Nova Labs!

I'd give this 5 stars if I didn't have to babysit the app. If I don't log in every other day, the mapping function stops working. I've fiddled with all power save settings and optimizations within my phone, and nothing helps. Phone service itself works great, Helium fixed my problem of no 5g at home with Verizons' BS extortion service. Latest update didn't fix this or the recertification bug everyone has.
