Why Choose Hello Aurora?
We created Hello Aurora from our own experience chasing the lights. We know that interpreting aurora forecasts can be overwhelming. That is why our app not only delivers precise data but also provides clear, easy-to-understand explanations of key metrics.

Being out in the cold and dark can feel isolating, so we developed the Moments feature – allowing users to share real-time photos of the aurora from their exact location. It helps build connection and community, making aurora hunting more engaging and less lonely.

Hello Aurora is for both local aurora hunters and visitor. Whether you are watching from your home or exploring a bucket-list destination, our custom location settings and regional notifications ensure you are ready when the lights appear.

Not impressed with this app. I live in the Adirondacks, where we do in fact get to see the Lights from time to time. I also got tired of the constant notifications about Alaska, and not being allowed to report post pictures from a brief little display here a few weeks ago, because the app decided it wasn't possible. What is even the point of allowing users to input their location, if the app isn't even accommodated for that area yet?

Love the map feature with other users sharing the location. However whenever I receive the notification I cannot see where exactly the person saw it, so I need to zoom in in every location in Finland to know who saw it recently..please fix. Some other buttons in the app also do not work for me (e.g. button send us email etc. )

One of the best Autora apps out there for UX. It would be nice to have diverse categories or only be notified for lights near you. It's cool to see other people's pictures, but if you're using this app for notifications to go check outside, the onslaught of notifications aren't helpful. Only having access to pro features through a subscription service instead of single payment doesn't make much sense when this app is very useful to tourists.

Toolwise is exceptional, the best app and the one that I used to see and have amazing pictures of the aurora 3 times in the last 10 days. BUT while I was using it, a key function in my opinion (moments) went from available to requiring a registeration. I understand that you need people to be registered in order to post pictures for security reasons and control, but to watch others' pictures? I feel it's unnecessary.

Haven't seen the Lights yet, but the app is much simpler and easier than anything else I've used. It doesn't give you a bunch of the "siencey" stuff I don't know any about anyway. Just simply answers the question, "Are the Northern Lights possible here tonight". Can wait to rate it AFTER it has correctly predicted a good viewing. Until then it's just an easier app to understand with good graphics and intuitive interface.

The interface is great! Really clean and understandable. Cant back out from the NOAA oval pictures, have to force close app. Weather data is a bit bland and could be more descriptive. The notification function is great, as long as people play nice! Wish there were more photos uploaded from users :) keep it up, will have this installed for a long time!

Really like the app and want to keep using it but it's been hard after a couple of updates. I was logged off the app a couple of times, I forgot my password for that account and even which email I used for it so I had to create a new account. No biggie, but after verifying my email I still get the popup to verify my email, which you can't dismiss and keeps blocking a good part of the screen. I'm also missing a "report issue/bug" button in the app.

App works great. I'm using the latest Android version and the app doesn't have an available permission setting to request access to gallery photos. The built in camera function lacks the features that the Galaxy phones support resulting in much lower quality photos that the native phone camera app.
