Jamaican Checkers Rules
Setup and Board

Played on an 8×8 board with alternating dark and light squares

Rightmost corner square on each player's side is dark

Each player starts with 12 pieces placed on dark squares of the first three rows

Dark pieces move first

Movement

Men move forward diagonally one square at a time

When a man reaches the opposite end, it becomes a King

Kings move forward or backward diagonally along entire diagonal lines

Captures and Jumps

Capture by jumping over an opponent's piece to a vacant square beyond

Captures are mandatory

Choose from multiple capture opportunities

If a mandatory capture is missed, the piece may be “huffed” (removed)

Winning

Win by capturing all opponent's pieces or blocking them from making valid moves

Russian Checkers Rules
Setup and Board

Played on an 8×8 board with alternating dark and light squares

Left square of the first rank is dark

Each player starts with 12 pieces placed on dark squares of the first three rows

White (lighter) pieces move first

Movement

Men move forward diagonally one square at a time

Upon reaching the opponent's back row, men become Kings

Kings can move any distance diagonally, forwards or backwards

Captures and Jumps

Captures can be made forwards or backwards

Captures are mandatory and must be completed fully in the chosen path

A man reaching the back row mid-capture becomes a King and continues capturing

A piece cannot be jumped more than once in a single sequence

Winning and Draws

Win by capturing all opponent's pieces or blocking them

Draws may occur due to stalemates, repetition, king advantage stalling, or inactivity

American Pool Checkers Rules
Setup and Board

Played on an 8×8 board with alternating dark and light squares

The dark corner square is on the left of each player

Each player starts with 12 pieces placed on dark squares of the first three rows

Black moves first

Movement

Men move one square diagonally forward

Men can capture diagonally forward and backward

When a man reaches the back row, it becomes a King

If promoted during a capture, the piece stops and does not continue jumping

Kings

Kings move any number of squares diagonally in any direction

Can change direction and continue capturing in multi-jump sequences

Must make all available captures in the chosen path

Captures and Jumps

Captures are mandatory

Choose any available capture path, not necessarily the longest

Must complete all jumps in the chosen sequence

No piece may be captured more than once in a single sequence

Winning

Win by capturing all opponent's pieces or leaving them without valid moves
