Hey you, PLAYER 1... I want you to ask yourself:* Are you a gamer that has multiple systems and a collection of retro games?
* Do you have emulator apps on your Android device?
* Do you enjoy playing those retro games as ROM backups using your favorite emulator apps?
* Do you wish you had one Android app to collect and display all of those systems and sweet retro games in a beautiful customizable UI allowing you to pick your favorite artwork, screenshots, logos, box art, and more, and be the envy of all of the kids on your block!
If you answered yes to all of those questions, then "GET READY PLAYER 1" for RESET Collection!
RESET Collection is an emulation frontend that can pull art assets and game info from an online video game database for your retro game collection that you have backed-up as ROMs on your Android device. You can then pick which of the artwork, screenshots, and box art you want to display.
If you already have videos and box art, screenshot, and logo images of your games that you downloaded using your PC and retro gaming video and image downloading software (such as Skraper), then you can move those media files located in the folders with your ROMs anywhere on your device's storage. You can then set your saved media as box art and backdrops for each of your games and systems by selecting "Set artwork/video snap for all games" from the system menu of any of your collections!
Now you can sit back, relax, and scroll through your awesome collection of retro games. When you're ready to play a game, SELECT it to launch it with your favorite emulator installed on your device!
Don't know what game to play? Let RESET handle it for you with the PLAY RANDOM GAME option! You can even filter the random games by system, date, genre, and title keyword!
If you choose an emulator that isn't installed on your device, RESET Collection will take you to the Play Store page of that app. NOTE: Some apps may no longer exist on the Play Store, but will remain supported in RESET Collection for those that still user those emulators on their devices.
IMPORTANT NOTES AND TIPS FROM THE DEVELOPER:
* The game screenshots displayed in this Play Store listing are not from games intended for play with the displayed system. They're shown for promotional purposes only, as they are games with art images that are free to use.
* For best results when downloading game data and artwork from the online database, please make sure your game file names match the original game name. As a good rule, match the game name to its name on popular online video game databases and wikis.
* My goal is to keep the UI and user experience as streamlined and simple as possible, and in this pursuit I might be missing some features that you really want. As I hear from the community on these desired features, I'll make sure to add them in future RESET Collection updates.
* I'm trying my best to have all of the included emulator options tested and working perfectly! I appreciate all suggestions on missing emulators, and I thank you for your patience as I add supported emulators, as well as fixing any emulators that may not be launching perfectly.
* Supports touch screen and gamepad navigation! But some things to consider:
# To bring up the game/system menu:
- For touch, long press the system or game box art
- For gamepad, hold down the action button
# To scroll the game description:
- For touch, swipe up and down
- For gamepad, use the shoulder buttons (L and R)
* Please send an email or join the RESET Collection Discord to give feedback, request a new feature, or get some help with your RESET Collection! Email and Discord link can be found by visiting the RESET Collection website.

Want to love it, but it's a mixed bag. The UI is super clean and intuitive. It's fun to navigate and the built-in scraping tools are robust. Unfortunately, it fails at really basic front-end things (like launching games). If you're using RetroArch for most of your systems, it works fine. If you're using standalone emulators, you're going to run into problems. As of right now, it doesn't work with MD.emu, Yaba Sanshiro 2 Pro, and it has problems launching Wii games with the Dolphin emulator.

Not bad but, as others have mentioned, it’s too cumbersome for large collections and the UI is not very well optimised for AndroidTV. Also, I wish there was a way to display video previews without audio, as the audio is sometimes very loud, and continues playing even when you’ve navigated away from that particular game.

Very easy to set up, clean and nice, I could get most of my games working, it's customizable and in terms of user friendliness and looks I'd rate it A+++ but I am still missing an option to split games into seperate libraries, like there is no final burn alpha, no capcom cps1, cps2, cps3, etc. So those missing arcade cabinets would be nice to have!!! Keep working on improving customization, really like you can add your own art. This program works ace!!!

Excellent Emulator front end - just fantastic - great development! Just some small suggestions please - 1/ A way to manage artwork. If a system is not found when scraping, we have black boxes for the games that have loaded. Give me a way to change where it scrapes from, or a way to tell it to check a folder locally and try and match every game name with starting part of the name like name% I would love it to be able to retry scraping etc with more options so I can finally get 1000's of games with artwork to bulk scrape and update automatically - yes I can do this 1 by 1 but that is crazy :) I love you app though, a great front end to both RetroArch and loads of other android emulators. Evcen the wife loves it!! Keep the new features coming my friend, thank you!

Excellent frontend but a slight problem. It saves all photos/scans for game art it downloads to device memory. Was loving the whole app and its pro look untill "memory is full" popped up on my nvidia shield tv. It taken up over 8 gigs of space in downloaded covers and box art etc and i had no way to move it to my external storage/usb drive. UPDATE: Developer has updated app so external storage is now used. Very quick to respond. 5 stars. Excellent work and well done!

Quite unreliable, sometimes I add a platform and it's missing from the list, sometimes the same platform shows twice after adding one, of course users have to make sure to change the location of the scrapped media to the SD card because if you want to change it afterwards it will just lose all the media and you will have to remove and add each platform again. Please add an option to re-scrape a collection, or to re-check if the media is again available after it's gone, and please fix all the issues with platforms disappearing, now if I try to add my PSP collection it says it cannot find anything, after I already added it (it didn't populate the list). Also, is there a way to prevent most of the screen from being used by the purple RESET logo when choosing platform?

This app is great so far! I have a very large library of games on my phone and I have to say that this app shows great potential. My Google photos is set to automatically backup and search for new folder so I had to a .nomedia to the default pictures folder where the scraped images are stored, but other than that it works great!

So far it's pretty good. Actually downloads the box art and descriptions for some rom hacks which is cool. My big complaint is for some reason when I added my snes and turbo cd collections it didn't download any of the system art or logos. I had to download custom pics off the internet and load them myself. Not sure if this will happen with any other systems.
