It's like Tinder--swipe right to "like" the roommate, swipe left to skip. Trendy and aesthetic. Allows you to create a profile with a bio and prefs. There's a chat function as well as community thread. Your profile pic can only be changed on the social account you use to log in, either Facebook or Google. The reason I gave it 2 stars is because I have never had an app crash this much in my life. Memory leaks caused my keyboard to lag horribly, had to restart my phone to fix it! Awful!

Great idea but terrible in practice. Notifications don't work 90% of the time so it's hard to keep up a conversation. Sometimes when I get a reply I get a "roomsync has crashed" message but most of the time it doesn't do anything. Save yourself the time and message potential roommates via social media through their profile page.

This app shuts down more than any other app ive ever used. It also apparently does awful when it comes to sending messages, say the internet stops or you have a spotty connection, the message is gone forever if you press send. I can't even expand the message bubble to edit text. Id honestly rather use roomsync online or even better, not at all. You also can't copy any messages. They need some major improvements to be trying to support college roommate selections...

On day 1, when I was typing my bio it would type all weird, had to restart the app to fix it multiple times. After the first day everytime I go on the app it would ask me to confirm my bio. No big deal, but when I have to do that everytime I click a button in the app that is an issue, plus when I do that it doesn't take me back to the page I clicked on. It takes me back the main page. Preventing me from going into the settings and matches, which prevents me from messaging people.
ugh dugh
The app is terribly built. Cant register with facebook or google no matter how many times you click the button. Empty dialogue boxes. Even their website is total trash too. It works but just barely and has really long loading screens for very basic stuff like accessing the property or choosing your floor plan. And once I waited 10 minutes to choose all the options they ask me for a passcode which I never received. It's amazing that a company operating like this even has clients.

Despite the app's best efforts, I found a roommate and made a few friends besides. The only reason I'm giving it two stars is because the concept is neat. However, that's where the good ends. It has multiple times sent me twenty or so blank notifications in the middle of the night. When I received a message, it didn't notify me. Sometimes all notifications disappear entirely. For the sake of all the new students next year, I hope my university finds a new roommate finder system.

Does the minimum (profiles, mutual or one-way likes, chat function). But Chats, the most used page, is clunky. The text box doesn't move up far enough and is half covered by my keyboard, making it a challenge to type messages. I had to watch my autocorrect suggestions to look for typos, and to move the text cursor, either get it on the first try, or press enter a few times to get the line wanted into the sliver of text box visible. Lastly, the text box does not expand beyond 2 lines.

This thing is a buggy mess. I could tell just from trying to type my profile that there are some coding/script problems since my words are coming out backwards. Not to mention even after I finally finished my profile, it would constantly pop back up and make me complete my it again. You can't even move to another part of the app without the required profile popping up again. This is an absolute mess that someone needed to have fixed ages ago.
