The oven? Perfect. The app from 3 to 2 stars. Why? The app is still awful and there is zero communication of it getting better. Notice, if you will, the only responses from support are when there is a positive review. App still suffers from an inconsistent connection, unresponsiveness, delayed connections and notifications. There was a release early December but no improvement on connectivity and still can't reliably start a timer. The app stinks. The oven, brilliant.

Crashes constantly This app crashes constantly on my Samsung Galaxy s22. It will load a recipe, usually but not always start the recipe, and then it freezes up immediately. Eventually I will get a message asking whether I want to wait or close the app. Closing the app allows me to restart it and it generally picks back up where it left off, crashing again in a few seconds. I don't think I've completed a single recipe without it crashing multiple times. The oven is great, the app is a disaster

The app itself integrates well with the oven. It is great to see the recipe directly with the cooking stages. The main issue is with stability of the app. When cooking, the app will crash regularly; sometimes four or five times during a single cook. The oven generally seems to continue as planned, but it is very frustrating to have to restart so often.

Constantly freezes on Android, requiring killing and restarting the app. There's no reason this should persist, unless they just weren't touching it. Oh yeah, if you happen to have to switch your WiFi? Good luck. I couldn't get it to connect for almost a year. Pretty sure it couldn't differentiate between 5GHz and 2 5, of which it cannot connect to the former and it took a lot of deep googling to get that answer. Be better, Anova, this thing wasn't cheap.

11/8/24 update: Back up to 4 stars. I had to get several steps into customer support, but there is a "connect my oven" feature buried in the oven light setting under More. Hardly intuitive, but it worked. Oct 2024: loved this app when it worked and could even put up with the crashes. However, like others, I haven't been able to connect to my oven for months now and even the disconnect oven feature doesn't work. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the app several times with no success.

Haven't been able to use the app for two months. Followed all of the reset instructions, but now the "disconnect from oven" doesn't work, so we can't reset the oven. Even uninstalled and reinstalled the app. We have to do everything using the buttons on the oven. Changed from 2 stars to 1 on Sept. 29 because there haven't been any changes.

Reducing to one star because the timer doesn't notify me time's up until I unlock my phone. Useless. I would rather not use an app for an oven, but Anova has built their oven to require app use. I can't turn the light on except in the app, and temp adjustments are frustrating on the squirrely oven screen. Unfortunately the app freezes constantly, and the preset recipes, which I use only for the oven settings, make you scroll through the whole recipe to see the settings. Poor design all around.

Newest version of app with newest firmware crashes when left open. Has happened with all 3 of my ovens. The one that started making loud weird sounds The one with the touch sensors on the handle would become unresponsive My current one that seems good so far, but the app keeps crashing. The whole point of having this oven over a simple toaster oven, in my mind, is the ability to do these advanced multistep cooks that can deliver a uniquely better and automated experience. Soooo frustrated
