Update: Like the march 2024 update, the recent August update killed notifications. Left here to notify of bug. Original: User since 2019. Did not want to spend extra on home link and did not want to pay subscription fees. The kit was easy to install and the open on arrival is very nice! I did turn off auto close since I like to watch the door close before I take off. I would love to have a lockdown mode, especially during vacations.

Loved it right up until about 3 days ago when they updated it and now notifications don't work and it crashes all the time. Email reply was quick but generic, reboot phone, clear catch, reinstall blah blah. I literally watched it update then it started crashing but ok I'll redo everything they asked me to do... again. Didn't work, emailed back. Response, we will send it to our team to resolve. Haven't heard a word since and it's dead. Looks like I need to find a more reliable product :(

Works as described. There's some clunk in the interface and the widget is useless unless you're into animated garage door vector art that works about 5% of the time. I rarely use the app because the automation plays so nice with smart home apps. I pull up, it opens. I leave, it closes about 30s-1min later. 2 cars setup. Works great.

3/3/24... Still broken with no notifications and Auto open/not functional even after uninstalling and reinstalling. Recent update broke push notifications (we get none) in addition to auto open/close for both my wife and I's Android phones. Whenever I close door from tailwind app an error pops up with "tailwind has experienced a bug". Both of our phones are less than a year old and all functionality was perfect before the most recent update.

Was working fine until the most recent update. After the update auto open and close, and notifications stopped working. Tried clearing cache but still didn't work. Un-installed then reinstalled. Auto open and close now work but still no notifications. 2/28/2024 - auto open stopped working again. Not sure what caused it to stop. Nothing has been changed. After the update today (2/29) the notifications are working again. Haven't tried auto open and close since this update.

This is an awesome system for integrating your garage with your phone and smart home system. It's great to be able to ask my smart home devices to open and close the garage doors. However, you should be aware that the app can cause significant battery drain. I have a Galaxy S10e which, under my normal use, had its battery last about 2 days until recently. Suddenly, I was getting a day's battery at best. (Earlier this week, I went to bed with 42% battery and woke up 8 hours later with 9%). As this was one of the more-recent apps that I installed, I uninstalled it. Now, I am back up to normal battery drain. (About 10% over 8 hours of non-use). Even though I uninstalled it, I can still use my smart devices to use tailwind to open/close the garage door, and as the proximity sensor was, at times, a little wonky, this works just fine for me. (I don't like driving away from home without seeing the garage door physically close). Overall, would recommend, but be careful about battery drain.

The app is being updated to be more versitile, but it is also full of bugs. Times reported by the application for notifications are off by an hour. Probably due to me being in Arizona, and a failed time zone implementation. The spoken notifications work for a little while, then stop and I need to reinstall to fix them. The additional users feature is not fully flushed out. Other users are able to rename your doors and such, which isn't good. Being able to auth certain doors would be nice too.

Just plain great. I've researched so many devices trying to find one that works with Alexa as well as my smartphone. This one does everything I need it to do and MORE. The audible alerts when the doors open and close are great. It's also great that it works with Wifi other than bluetooth so you can check AND control your garage when you're away..... Even in another country! Installation was simple (routing the wiring the most time to make it neat and tidy).
