Terrible app since the latest update. The UI is not designed for the Pixel 8 pro screen. The controls are cut off at the top and bottom of the screen so I can't access the settings icon. I've used these lights for several years, but can't anymore. Bluetooth won't connect. App won't connect. 100% useless. Into the garbage they go.

Bought the AppLights with 140 effects a few days ago and have been trying to get the app to work on my Samsung a52 phone since. The app doesn't work! When I press anything on the screen it takes minutes for the app to realize it. It doesn't allow me to put in a password for the lights so haven't been able to try any of the light effects. I don't know how they released this thing without making it functional. ***read the reviews before buying. I should have.***

Expensive garbage. First season I left a great defensive review for the nay-sayers. I paid nearly 100 bucks per string or decoration. On a bluetooth scan I pick up my 9 strings/devices. That's 900 bucks-ish. Last year they were frustrating, this year I cant get a reset or the app to recognize. I can see them in a standard bluetooth scan. Poor tech contron/regression testing practices at best. If you are looking for one season use... have at it. Otherwise spend your money elsewhere.

Seems to me with all the dissatisfied, and disappointed customers who purchased y'all's merchandise (me included). I can't get mine to connect at all y'all would try whatever there is to make this app workable and here is another one suggestion. Sell a replacement remote!!!! I found one online and it cost for just the remote 2.00 less than the entire unsaumble. That's insane. My neighbor asked, where could they get one? and I said don't buy it it is not worth it especially if you lose the remote

I like the lights but the app leaves a lot to be desired. Half the time it will only connect to one of the two strings that I have which are connected together and connected to the same outlet. I have to walk up to within a foot of the lights in order to get the other one to connect. Also when are you going to upgrade the app to include a timer feature so that I can set a timer for my lights? That seems like a basic function that should be part of this app.

DON'T UPDATE IF YOU HAVE OLDER LIGHTS! I have been using these lights for several years and the older app, while wonky at times, worked. I had to get a new Android phone and as part of the process, the app was updated. It will not connect to the lights i have. My old phone has the older app on it and it still works fine. Either fix this app to be backwards compatible or provide the old version for us who need it.

For those having connection issues. Looks like a recent update put in a requirement for location to be enabled for this app prior to launching it. Pretty maddening as I see no reason they need this information. However once I enabled location, then went into the app, I was able to immediately connect. Also tried contacting them thru the support line. After a long wait it delivered me to voicemail. Hopefully this location requirement is a bug that will be fixed.

Used these lights for a few seasons with marginal success. I have always managed to get them to work, eventually. A few sets have returned to the store if they didnt work right. My biggest issue is that the app now requires your location to be on. I dont understand why they would require this unless they are tracking you and selling your information to retailers. So i turn the location on then make the changes and turn it back off. I will not purchase any more of these lights. Maybe a competitor
