App has difficulty connecting to roku device. Audio played through the app sounds like a damaged cd. It often just won't even open. It sometimes disconnects from the device entirely. Frequently crashes. Uninstall and reinstall didn't work. Phone is more than capable of running the app. Phone has no connectivity issues outside of this app. Restarting allows the app to function for a few minutes. The recent update doesn't resolve any of these issues.

Private Listening NEVER works. It used to be great but it never works now. Audio CONSTANTLY cuts out every 2 seconds. It's awful. This is a super common complaint by many roku users yet they will tell you to check your wifi connection. My network is flawless and I've done every possible troubleshooting step to fix it to no avail. This feature is the main reason we are roku customers. If the app worked it would be fantastic. Sadly, they refuse to admit they have faulty hardware and software.

Update, well it's not turning on my headphones anymore at least, but if I leave the app and need it again, I have to close the app and reopen. Very frustrating, especially when I'm in a game. ***Not working again. Keeps turning on my headphones and won't turn them off. My Bluetooth isn't even on. I j Am sick and just want to have some noise in the background but can't becAuse the app keeps messing up my experience.

I keep losing my remote so unfortunately I keep having to use this app. It usually works "ok" for the most part, but for the last couple days it's been freezing on the start up screen and then shows a prompt saying it's not responding and I have to force close it. Please fix this issue so I can continue to use the app. Thank you.

Update 11/10/2024 Nonstopfox's review below is the reason I'm here. Some new added. UNNECESSARY feature has the remote screen covered up by MyRoku, featured apps and continue watching. ABSOLUTELY ANNOYING. The original was just fine. We can go and easily look for those aspects when and IF we need them. ORIGINAL REVIEW: Flawless and keyboard has saved me when i didn't feel like selecting letters with the remote.

Update review, 2.5 years later! Why, just why, does the app have to take 30 seconds just to open? By the time it finally opens, I've found my remote and I can change the channels there! I mean come on! You just need to make the app open basic functionality before it starts to load all the other unnecessary garbage. I just found another bug while typing this, it disconnects my headphones as I'm listening through the streaming option just because I'm on another app. Thx for the app, but frustratin

One of few apps that has gotten worse with every update received. The remote used to connect and work effortlessly now it takes upwards of 5 minutes and multiple restarts of the app for it to connect to my TV (if it bothers to), while my friend has been unable to use the app for our TV for weeks now. The bloatware they call features has gotten so intrusive that I am frequently blocked from using the volume buttons on the bottom of the remote because they are often covered by the "My Roku" button

the default page being a list of featured apps instead of the remote is a sin. Now, there's an annoying pop-up that has little ads mixed into features that block half your remote any time you press anything in the app. It's barely a remote at this point. I will never buy another roku device or TV again, it's felt like a constant degradation of services and features every update. It feels like they take no steps forward and three steps back every time I turn on my device.
