Oh, I'm so happy! This app was working great for a very long time, and then all of a sudden, it would refuse to open. I tried everything that you're supposed to try to get an app to work, but it was fruitless. I gave up, then today - 2 weeks from when the app started not responding - I tried it again, expecting nothing - - and it's WORKING BEAUTIFULLY!! Hooray! WBEZ is just the best for balanced reporting and podcasts. I felt lost without it, but now it's back. Hope it stays that way!

Pause control is very sluggish. Movement controls on recorded content are only 10 sec in either direction and are very sluggish and erratic, so almost useless. Movement by finger press on progress bar is very sluggish and erratic as well and hardly useful. I have been a Wbez subscriber for years. I am using a LG Stylo 5 phone with Android 10. Progress bar behavior on my wife's Apple iPhone 10 is much better--compared to my Android 10 LG Stylo 5 phone. Maybe I need to switch to iPhone usage??

Update: Unusable! Knocking off another star because it crashes on EVERY launch! App hasn't been updated since 2022. • Great content when it works. • Biggest issue: Cannot exit the app. Continues to run in the background and drain battery even after a force-stop. • It often stops playing when using other apps. • Phone log shows multiple crashes each day that I use it. This should not be happening with a professional app running on a Galaxy S21 Ultra with all the latest software

I've had the same experience reported by other reviewers: the app streams successfully for about 2 minutes, then abruptly stops -- annoying when listening through my bluetooth speaker. This problem has been reported since at least late 2018 (one year ago); not sure why it hasn't been addressed yet. (Samsung Galaxy S8/Android)

Great app, doing it's job. But I have a feature suggestion. What about adding the ability to schedule the app to start at certain times of the day. Not useful for someone with a smart speaker, but I'm not one of those. On top of that I'm not a fan of having apps listening to everything in my life, so I don't use Google assistant either.

Having tested on three different Android devices, I am frustrated and disappointed. 1. The app stream closes within seconds of moving away from the WBEZ app. I'm streaming audio here. Why can I not multitask as with almost any other app? 2. The app breaks into the stream with quick ads right in the middle of someone's sentence. With no way to rewind live streams, I can only impolitely describe how frustrating this is.

I've had this app for a few years. I've listened to WBEZ forever. But, ever since I got my Samsung S10, the shuts down after 10 minutes at the same time my screen time out is set. If I could set the time out longer, I would. So, I am uninstalling it. I have tried for years to listen to WBEZ on my radio. But I live 1 mile from College of Dupage, and their radio station interferes.

It is very unfriendly. It keeps conking out every 5 to 10 minutes and guaranteed to stop on the hour...."media error". Then when you log back in you get to listen to more commercials! If you're listening to a podcast cast you have to reload from the beginning and find the location you left off. I listen to WUOM (Michigan radio) instead.
