This used to be a good app for news. Then they changed it to make room for ads. Half of the screen is now an ad you can't skip or get rid of, and it changes while you read so that it distracts you from what you are reading. This means that their ads are now more important than the news they are putting out for you to read. Uninstalled. Good content (when it actually displays content), but poor design. After choosing a news section (World, Canada, etc.), and reading through that section, you have to scroll all the way back to the top to choose another section. Unable to zoom pictures or make them larger. No options for font sizes. Frequently shows "content not available" instead of news. Seems to think Northern Ontario stretches from North Bay to Sudbury - almost no news from Northwestern Ontario.

Way, way, way too many commercials. Literally minutes of commercials to get on to the live TV feed, then more commercials one story in. This is not feasible. 15 second commercial for each story (not on feed) is reasonable. Live feed already has ads in stream; you don't need to put three minutes of ads to even access those feed ads. FFS.

App is not highly usable. When I am scrolling down an article (by swiping up), the next article often pops up. what the heck. Who designed that UX feature or thought it was a good idea??? It is so annoying and happens so often and there is no way to turn off the swipe feature/bug.

Well, you absolutely BLEW IT on your new App. It is no longer easy to use (scroll), viewing the content is a mish mash of ads, stories, live tv, that is a total mess, and too much on the eyes. The removal of Local content (specifically Van Is) was a poor decision. The creator tried to do WAY too much. Less is better. I'll be moving to CBC. By the looks of the response since launching, I'm not the only one who thinks you'd best remedy the App and return to a much more streamlined format.

Far better than it was. Getting rid of the "Up Next" thing at the bottom of the screen would just about make the whole thing just about worthwhile. I don't get Canadian news news sites using geolocation to make some of the app unusable outside of Canada. Bad for expats trying to keep up. Nobody else does except Canadian apps.

Downloaded the CTV news app today, it asked which regions I wanted covered. Being from NL, I requested atlantic area coverage. Well much to my shagrin, when I scrolled through NS, NB, PEI and then NL, the most recent article there was dated 1 year ago. the remainder was older than that. Come on people, Atlantic Canada includes NL. With all the 51st state rhetoric coming from the south, this was VERY disappointing to see. I'm sure CTV has reporters in NL to cover up to date news stories there.

Local stories aren't local. It's a mix of local and stories from all over Canada. Why even give us a Local option? Copying a link to share doesn't work from the app. You have to open the story in a browser and copy the link from there. The lack of editorial staff is made obvious by the abundance of grammar and spelling errors in every story (they seem to lack both editors and spell check), as well as formatting errors. Articles are often posted as a wall of text, with no paragraphs.
