Aurora Forecast 3D er et værktøj til at spore, hvor nordlyset er placeret på himlen fra et hvilket som helst sted på planeten. Det gengiver Jorden i 3D med rotation og skalering lige ved hånden. Du kan vælge lokationer og lave din egen jordstationsliste. Solen oplyser kloden, mens den opdaterer i næsten realtid. De kortsigtede prognoser er op til +6 timer, mens de langsigtede prognoser er op til 3 dage frem i tiden. De opdateres, når appen er aktiv og tilsluttet internettet.Der medfølger et nordlyskompas, der viser, hvor nordlysets ovale [1,2], månen og solen er placeret, når du kigger op på himlen fra din placering. Månens fase og alder er også visualiseret i kompasset. Ved at zoome ud i 3D-visningsporten vises satellitter, stjerner og planeter i deres kredsløb [3] omkring Solen.

Was a great app to get notified in advance of possible aurora, and view regular updates of the NOAA forecast... Until the notifications stopped working. I don't receive any now, and haven't for months. Missed several possible opportunities as a result. Edit to reply to dev: So the developer DELIBERATELY REMOVED the most useful feature, rather than instructing users how to use their phone settings to turn off notifications. Dumb and useless. One star, uninstalled.

That was great if you live in one of the predetermined towns or where Fred lives. I tried having the app find my location and it always puts me at Fred's place. There doesn't seem to be any way to have it use the GPS in the phone to position yourself on the map. Hopefully this will be updated as the app does look to be very good otherwise. I keep getting the little warning triangle telling me that it's not connected to the internet yet everything else works proving internet is connected.

Latest update with the slider at the bottom is really buggy. (Annoying) The slider keeps snapping back. As well as rotating the globe every time you try to slide the timeline. When you finally got the time correct on the slider when pushing the home icon to set back your position it snaps back to 00:00h... At the moment not usable, looking forward to the next update.

This app is visually very appealing, has some great features, and is pretty easy to use once you get used to it. The help feature and video are pretty good, but might need to be updated for the current version. For example, I can see how to add a station, but not edit the name. I see a few other things on the globe display, but don't see an explanation of what they are (yellow map pin?). I look forward to seeing if the aurora visibility indication is accurate! Cool app.

Looks good, a lot of information and the forecasts are clear. The forecast refreshes each time the app's opened. The downside is there's a clear gap between clicking a notification and being able to see the forecast, especially in a low signal area.

Amazing and very informative This app is very easy to use, especially for answering the question, "could I have seen the aurora last night?". It's a very well designed user experience. Even has a star chart feature, and let's the user move backward and forward in time about a day.

Great app, though a lot of options/functions to figure out. I like the astro background explanation in the info section for people who want to learn more. A nice option would be to set up an alert when a storm is forecast (or is that function already there and I missed it?)

This is one of the best apps. It has a built-in interactive map with different versions and you can also see the constellations and planets etc.. and a compass to help you locate the right part of the sky. It has info about the aurora predictions on the map and in graphs which are updated in real-time. Along with the current KP index and solar wind info etc.. you can also see the light pollution and where the sun and moon are in the sky at the moment. It has a lot of very useful information.
