Um die breite Öffentlichkeit zu ermutigen, Verkehrsverstöße zu melden, hat die Verkehrsmanagementabteilung der Polizei von Delhi im Dezember 2015 ein Traffic Sentinel-Programm gestartet. Zu diesem Zweck hat die Polizei von Delhi eine mobile Anwendung namens „Traffic Sentinel“ für Android- und iOS-Benutzer eingeführt. Das Traffic Sentinel Scheme wurde am 1. September 2024 als „Traffic Prahari“ neu gestartet.
Die „Traffic Prahari“-App ist im Google Play Store (für Android-Benutzer) und im Apple Store (für iOS-Benutzer) verfügbar. Nach der Installation muss der Benutzer die App starten und sich mit seiner Mobiltelefonnummer registrieren, indem er das OTP, den Namen und die E-Mail-ID eingibt.
Die Benutzer können bestimmte Verkehrsverstöße melden, indem sie Fotos oder Videos von säumigen Fahrzeugen aufnehmen und diese über die App an die Verkehrspolizei von Delhi senden, damit die Straftäter anschließend strafrechtlich verfolgt werden.
Die Angaben zu Datum, Uhrzeit, Ort, Registrierungsnummer und Art des Verstoßes sind zwingend erforderlich, um eine Anzeige gemäß 133 M. V. Act, 1988 gegen Verkehrsverstöße zu erteilen. Daher wird von Traffic Praharis erwartet, dass sie diese Informationen bereitstellt. GPS-Koordinaten, Datum und Uhrzeit werden automatisch vom Mobiltelefon übernommen.
Ein attraktives Belohnungssystem ist ebenfalls Teil des Programms. Auf der Grundlage der erzielten Punkte werden die aktiven Praharis belohnt.

You cannot record a complaint if you don't upload a video. Sometimes, people are driving so fast that making a video is not possible. Also, it's not possible to shoot a video of a vehicle making loud noise at 3 a.m.!! Most user-unfriendly app.

The app should allow to attach video or image from gallary so that people can record the violation and report it when they get some time to do so. While riding a vehicle most of people arent going to park, write review, enter all the details and submit it. People need to reach at their destination on time. Allowing to use media files to report a violation will give citizen an option to still do their duty and report even if they are in hurry when the violation was observed.

Worst app. If someone is violating red light or doing rash driving, then i can only get seconds of time. In that time they expect me to click photo, type vehicle no., location, time, date etc etc. do you really think this can be possible?

So if we spot a traffic violation like someone driving dangerously, polluting etc... We open this app and click Report a violation. Click on take picture, then give GPS permission, enter their vehicle number, date and time. Why can't you let me attach a photo I clicked on my phone camera which is faster to access. Has GPS, date and time in metadata. I'm pretty sure no one would've managed to report a single traffic violation on this trash app.

This app crashes. Even after multiple tries didn't receive OTP to log in. As expected, incompetent service

Firstly, app is really slow and if it opens on time by the time I am about to click the Pic then camera doesn't work (permission needed when all the permissions are allowed). Secondly, if camera opens then quality of video or picture is not good. Numer plate is not clearly visible. Request the designing team to kindly fix these minor bugs.

Basic app needs improvement 1. No parking violation should be added 2. No entry for commercial vehicles should be added 3. Very slow and many unable to upload images/data
