No reactive support and poor guides. I'm an IT engineer and I waste lot of my time to figure out how to make 2 locks working. I already bought this lock last year and ship it back because no good support and poor guides. I bought one this week and same issue: the lock doesn't move or answer. I think I've found a technical tip to counter this and make both locks recognized and answering. But I'll not deal with that and take risk to stay locked outside. So I think I'll ship it back, and wait.. .

Great app, very convenient most of the time. I have a few problems that are bothersome enough to have to remove two stars. I get multiple battery critically low alert messages everyday 3 or 4 months before the batteries actually die! Location awareness is buggy on the Android app, so I can't use it. Often, when opening the app, it takes too long to connect, but when it finally does, I attempt to press the big red unlock button, but it is unresponsive. I have to close then reopen. Plz fix 🫠

Update 2024: downgraded rating to one star. After two years, my august lock has not improved it's functionality one bit. I'm constantly worried about getting locked out because of some stupid malfunction. I had to climb through a window once because the lock decided not to work that day. Constant recalibration on a regular basis. It's time for August to go in the trash!

Their latest gen 3 pro locks are better. I've also got 3 of the previous model and they drain batteries 4x faster and are much slower to sync with the app. The biggest caveat is not being able to use rechargeable batteries or seeing actual battery levels to know if you should think about changing batteries soon / before leaving for a while.

Works very well with one small bug. When the app opens, connects to the door on wifi, switches to Bluetooth, the red circle you tap to unlock it is unresponsive. The workaround is to change tabs, then change back, and it connects, switches to BT, and works properly. I will change to 5 stars if this is fixed.

I've been using the app for years. It's been good but frequently needs resetting. Sometimes it makes me unlock my phone multiple times. I'd recommend it because the hardware is fantastic, but if you ever need to open your door with any real urgency, look elsewhere or keep your key handy. Edit for devs: I suspect jumping to wifi too quickly is a factor due to my home layout; having a manual option for switching between wifi and BT would be nice, it tries the jump when STILL well in BT range.

This app seems to be getting worse. It's very buggy and unresponsive. 75% of the time when I open the app and click to unlock a lock, it doesn't do anything. Sometimes I have to flip back and forth between different locks, close it and then open again for it to work. The design hasn't been touched in years and the only thing that's changed is it's less stable.

The UI/UX for this app is pretty horrible, in terms of setting up a new lock. You will spend an hour in this app looking at random screens, the app force closing on you and you having to restart everything. Then it tells you it is looking for a firmware update, but then gives you an error.
