I strongly advise against getting a Meater. First, the device doesn't work. The packaging is fancy but the product is not accurate and it is not reliable. I used multiple other products that read a consistent temperature and the Meater was way off. I've had similar feedback from others who had Meaters and returned them. The app also is terrible. Good luck figuring out how to disable false alarms that wake you up in the middle of the night, and just keep going off.

Accurate, well built, but get ready for 1k lost connection push notifications you can't disable. Don't think you will just use another device next to the grill and use the cloud. It's almost always at least an hour behind. There is no way to turn off the other 1k cook time adjusting push notifications you're going to get on either. I'll change my rating when you add simple toggle buttons to your mandatory cook notifications. If I haven't thrown it over the fence by then.

The app itself is bad and just got worse. It loses connection all the time with the thermometer, whether you have the Bluetooth connection or the meater+ block. Every couple of minutes I'll check my phone for an update only to have the "No Meater Connected" screen. Then when it finally does connect, the cook is over done. That pushed me over the edge to finally write this review. Over a year later and still the same problems. Hate this thing.

I use this for smoking. I am not enjoying my experience with meater. It does not stay on for longer than a few minutes before it powers off. This means I have to go outside to turn it on to know my meat temps. For all of that I could use a regular probe. It as connectivity issues because of constantly powering off. It also doesn't have good range from the block to the probe. The block has to remain annoyingly close to the probe. I feel like I completely wasted my money and Im stuck with them.

Constantly loses connection even when the block is 5 feet from my smoker. I can't set an alarm for resting my brisket to tell me when it hits 170 while cooling off from 205. There's no temp display on the block. That's just dumb! Any time I turn my phone screen off to save battery I get a stupid notification. Then more notifications that the probe has lost connectivity and then reconnected right away. Very undependable! Doesn't work Samsung watch.

It's a fight to connect the pro 2 probe every time I try to use it. Despite keeping it plugged in to the charging box, it's always on low battery alert any time I can get it to connect, which probably contributes to the connectivity issues. Great idea, terribly frustrating execution.

LOVE MY MEATER! Once you learn how to use it, grilling comes out perfectly. You have to learn to adjust goal temperatures to end up where you want. Set a 2" filet mignon to 120º, and it hits about 130º. They say to cook chicken and my turkey loins to 165º but I found them overdone. So I set the poultry tomperature to upper 130's and it comes out perfectly too. Still haven't mastered pork chops but getting there.
