This new version of the Google weather app is awful. No more quick searches of different locations, which makes it hard to plan out motorcycle or bicycle rides that go through different places at different elevations and experience different weather patterns. You can only save new locations. Save. That's it. You can't delete them as far as I can tell. I go through a lot of places once or twice and then never again, I don't need to keep seeing weather for those places after my trip. Trash app.

Previous version (including froggy) was much simpler to read, much more intuitive to understand, much cleaner and uniform looking, much more elegant design. Why change all that to something that looks SO much more busy, hard to read with all the different shapes and graphics. Seems like the app went backwards to a more crude phase that's lacking in maturity in terms of design. Appreciate the stand alone feature but unfortunately not enjoyable to use (yes, even though it's a weather app).

New update does not have weather available for a default location unless you share precise location on your phone and I do not do that. If I want weather for my home area, I have to save it as one of my favorites and choose it from the list each time I get into the app. It needs the ability to choose a default location from the favorites list if they are no longer allowing it to default to estimated location.

Can't search a location without having it saved and no easy way (or any way) to delete saved locations? Individual widgets for precipitation, visibility, etc too big and not visually appealing. 10 day forecast to scrunched. The horizontal scrolling for it is terrible. No dates for the 10 days. I wish ai would stop being pushed. I don't need an ai summary of the weather. Worst of all no froggy! Overall it's just quite ugly and a downgrade from the previous version.

I don't know why this was changed. The previous UI was much easier to read and had a better flow to it. Now if I click on the weather it has a pop up every time asking to turn on notifications which I do not want EVER. There's no option to tell it that. Then I have to put in a location or save one for it to even do anything. I don't like using my current location all the time and don't like being asked to do so constantly. The other UI was less intrusive. Stop changing things that already work!!

Why are the widgets so big and inconsistently shaped? I love Google's UI choices but this is just not it. Things are too spaced out and large, and the background is kinda plain if you live in a small to medium town/city. Maybe just make some generic ones w/ different heights in buildings like you do for Richmond, VA, Gary, IN, and Niagara Falls, NY as a couple examples. Also, bring back the frog, it was literally the one thing that made Google weather unique.

So much worse than the old experience!!! When I unfold my phone HALF OF THE SCREEN is now dedicated to just the temperature, which is a terrible use of space. In the old app this gave me a scrollable element for the entire week When I tap the icon on the home screen, instead of going right to details, it makes me pick my location from a list. I do not want to keep my GPS on 24/7 when I'm in the same city 95% of the time! Adding the radar gets this 2 stars instead of 1.

With the latest UI change, I don't like having to scroll horizontally to see the 10 day forecast. Previously it was available at a glance. Also Google, we need to have a chat: what did you do to the frog!? 🐸 Bring back froggy! At least make froggy an option to turn on and off! Overall, the weather predictions are a lot more accurate than apple weather, which is great, app technically gets the job done.
