I installed two locks on a 'double lock' security gate. Finger prints were activated for two individuals. Both locks have worked at 'first touch' 90% of the times, the remaining 10% required repositioning my finger. Thus far no complains! I need an outdoor version that's IP67 rated, as I would like to use the lock on my external gates at the entrance to the property.

It has been hit or Miss but usually works fairly well. I did recently have a scare when I try to unlock my shed in a rainstorm and it wouldn't work. I bought this because it was advertised to be able to handle the rain but there's a good chance that it didn't recognize my wet fingerprint so I can't conclusively say that there's anything wrong with it. I like the occasional firmware updates making the device better and better each time. I just wish I understood the morse code emergency option

7.17.2020 update. Still unreliable and not improved. 1 failed completely. 2017 review:Wish I had read the reviews here before buying. I have had every issue described in reviews and more. It would be generous calling this a Beta app. It is more like pre-alpha. I hope they get it fixed as the lock looks great and when it works it saves lots of time.

I've used both this lock and the dog and bone lock. The Tapp lock is better. Fingerprint recognition is great and fast. As other people have pointed out the app was in bad shape Bluetooth connectivity was unreliable. It works now but they have a hack on exit to disable your phones Bluetooth. The app seems to be getting better so I'm happy. Edit. Bluetooth no longer works!

I was a backer when Tapplock started. I missed the firmware update of 2018 because my device worked just fine & I didn't receive an update about it. I recently gave a NIB never opened original tapplock to a friend who needed a gym lock. Because the firmware update is no longer offered, I essentially gave her a paperweight. You can't program the device to do anything. The manufacturer has abandoned the product line and refuses to respond to messages across all platforms.

So many bad reviews, but honestly it does everything it aims to do. Fingerprint is great, works extremely accurate, bluetooth works from the app. I got the new update to the app, and have had 0 issues with connecting to my lock. It's also incredibly useful now getting the logs, so you can see who opened the lock and what time it occured. Absolutely love it. The redesign looks a lot more appealing to the eye, and works as intended so far. No issues on my end. Good job.

I bought the tapplock one second hand having trouble getting it to connect to the app I've asked for assistance through their support system tech support whatever you want to call it several times at least six or seven emails asking them for their assistance in helping me get it unlocked factory reset or whatever and I can't get anyone to reply to me their customer service is totally junk I don't recommend buying one of these because if you have any issues you're SOL and on your own

Since today the app suddenly says Server Error no matter what version of app I use. And without app you can't edit/add fingerprints or use bluetooth unlock so essentially the 100$ lock is useless now. What kind of joke is this? Update: Few hours later the app is working again. It's unfortunate however that, like mmo game, the app works as long as server does, except here I don't see why you need to be connected to a server to use a local Bluetooth connection to operate a lock. 3 stars for now.
