Required but doesn't do much useful. You need this app to setup the toy, which is fine, but it does little else. You cannot tell whether a track is a song or a story, you cannot switch or play tracks (and the ability to switch tracks on the box is buggy and broken...it works, but only sometimes and sometimes it simply restarts the track you are on which makes it difficult to figure out which track you are actually on unless you know their starting sounds by heart). Overall poor execution.

I have mixed feelings. The box is nice for toddlers turning on their own stories/music. However I think 20-30eur for a Tonie is expensive. The free stories/music for a creative tonie is mostly rubbish, so I'm back to downloading/uploading files like I did in the 90s. That takes time and can't be done from a mobile phone alone, or it's cumbersome. If I would be able to pull my Spotify kids playlists onto it, I would rate it higher.

Terrible app software update happened a couple of months ago; I tried contacting support and no response. Essentially when i try to log in to my tonie account i get an unexpected error " Error code nointernet- from usercontextloading" (Im connected to the internet) App used to work great until that update months ago... tried creating a new account and it also failed; same error. Used different devices to check if there was a compatibility issue; same. We haven't bought a new tonie since.

Terrible app! Unable to register account. Account verification email never sends. I have tried three emails and still unable to register. It will not let you proceed past this point. Tried to reach out to support and the Toniebox ID was not found(written exactly the way it reads on the bottom of the box). To be honest, give the kids the iPad and watch the movie. Save yourself the trouble of waiting for support. They will not reach out. No phone contact listed so I guess we will be sending back.

Don't turn on my screen when you send marketing notifications. My phone's "wake screen for notifications" option is not enabled. Your marketing notifications SDK must be abusing some Android API that causes the screen to turn on. Do not do this. It is obnoxious! This app turned on my screen when a notification appeared at 15:20 17 Oct. Don't do it!!!

This app is useless and doesn't work. It will not get your tonibox connected. I had to use their website, but it means that I cannot use any of the content on the app, the box isn't connected to my account, and I cannot use the box outside my wifi network.

A recent update has broken the app and the login button on the first page doesn't load anything. Stuck at the first page and the app is now useless. Made the switch to Yoto and never looking back!

I'm sat in my kids room at night waiting for the tonies box to turn off coz it has froze on green and not registering any characters when I put them 10 min wait time is ridiculous that should be reduced and the app needs a powered off button as the actual box doesn't have 1 what a absolute joke
