First time i used it, it was good now when I top up everytime I have to go out to the meters and put it a long bloody code in each meter just to get the top up on apparently it doesn't go through via the app the payment does of course but it doesn't go through to the meter. Great fun in the dark in the middle of winter. Why have a payment system through an app that doesn't work cannot wait to switch energy company and get back on direct debit

I was inveigled into switching from my previous supplier and find that unlike with them, I get no low credit warning, and, when I topped up this morning, the credit remaining was 30 hours out of date. If I could give no stars, I would. Still no low credit warning, again I have been left without power.

2022: Very little to say apart from it's a very poor app. Riddled with bugs. It collects the money so it does what it is needed to do as far as a business would be concerned. But overall, barely functional. As of 2025: Still absolutely no improvement. Still riddled with bugs. Keeps asking me to rate the app, even though I scold it annually. Its embarrassing that this is the best British Gas can provide.

1), I have dual fuel. The balances on the app say £0.00 and even once I have topped up, that doesn't change. I have to rely on someone to verbally tell me what the balances are from the smart meter display instead. I am physically unable to get to the display for myself. 2), I can top up one fuel successfully but the app will then decline the other fuel top up and I often have to wait 24 hours before it is successful. 3), Too slow to load! Online account app is exactly the same. Frustrated!!

When I first started using this app, it was good. We were able to see our balance accurate balance for both gas and electricity. About a year or maybe more, we've had both gas and electricity meters updated and a new smart meter fitted, and now nothing works. You don't get an accurate balance reading. Also, when topping up both gas and electricity, we have to manually add it to both meters. Not liking the app now.

British Gas app works well enough for topping up my appliances. The app and my smart meters are not synced correctly so even if the app is telling me one amount my meter tells me something else . There's no warning messages to tell me when my credit is low and when I do top up using the app the credit does not immediately get transferred to my smart meters like digital currency. Overall I no longer have to go to a shop to top up so that's one good thing

Its great when it works but it doesn't always and I've had numerous problems with it. It's slow, often stops mid loading then you have to start again and it never shows the true balance it's always running behind so it may show you've got £20 when in fact you're down to £5. The monitor is delicate. Not fit for purpose.

Doesn't show the current balance. Both gas and electric shows at 0.00 since September 2024, and even before the balance was never correct. Even my smart meter doesn't work and only shows my balance and usage for gas. When I've contacted them, they just say I'm being updated to a better system. Think it's time to switch to a company that might be better!
