Very helpful and well made. Graded reading that lets you absorb new material at the right pace without overwhelm. An optional toggle for pinyin and translation that's relatively intuitive. Very prompt and helpful support. Hard to think of how it could be done better.

Great app for learning to read Chinese! Includes audio and can click for definitions. One bug I've noticed though is if using traditional characters, sometimes the title of the article doesn't show up. But if you switch to simplified, you can see the title in simplified characters. It seems to happen randomly though. Also wish you could click on characters in the title for definition and pronunciation. But all and all, great tool for learning to read Chinese.

Great app. I love using this app to listen to native speakers read real news articals. You can click on words while you listen to see translations. There are 6 skill levels. I'm studying levels 1 and 2. Sometimes 3. They adapt the articles in the lower skill levels accordingly. Each higher level gets harder (more descriptions and faster pronunciations). New articals come out every day so there is no lack of interesting news articles to study from. They are also quick to respond to suggestions.

The sheer amount of content is superior to other graded reader apps, with grammar points and comprehension tests provided. The dictionary is a bit wonky, though - sometimes the "top" definition is some incredibly niche usage, and some words don't trigger dictionary entries when they should. Also, TCB only has news-style articles, no features, essays, fiction, conversations, etc, but that should go without saying.

Their apps NEVER fail to have bugs. Scrolling issues in the articles that make scrolling work on maybe 20% of swipes. Doesn't happen in any other app, so clearly a bug. Come on guys, do better quality control and testing. (Galaxy S9+). If they could get their quality issues fixed, would be a great service, but always more effort to use than worth the trouble.

This app is great in the sense that the articles are really well written, new material is constantly added and it's actually super interesting. However, the actual app itself is just terribly designed. Compared to Duchinese, the app is really, really amateurly made. The UI is a mess and not well designed, the dictionary is slow and half the time doesn't retrieve the words, there are tons of other bugs too. Generally, the content writers can't be praised high enough, the stories are way more interesting than DuChinese, but the app designers need a lot of criticism for how bad the android app is. I'm not sure why it's so bad but the UI and UX really needs to be improved, the content is so great but the poor functionality of the app really disrupts the experience. I hope they'll improve this and I really do want to continue supporting this company for its great reading material.

Wonderful app. I enjoy learning through reading the most and this app provides excellent material, well categorized by skill level. Also provides users the function to save, and later study, new and unfamiliar words. Currently, the only issue I experience is that words will occasionally fail to have a definition appear when clicked on but it looks like a bug or error in code, rather than "a lack of information available.

Have tried many "editor's choice" learning app but nothing beats this for mandarin. It's not cheap but in my view, it is worth every penny. Besides, I had almost instantaneous response and assistance when I had problem logging in. It is always reassuring to know that developer who has enjoyed tremendous success still makes room for prioritising its subscribers' emails.
