This used to be a good app. However, as with all things in life, someone believes they can improve on a good thing and makes it worse. Whatever recent update Kwikset pushed out has made the app - and more importantly- the expensive lock utterly and woefully useless. Their tech support will suggest multiple things: clear cache, complete a factory reset or uninstall and reinstall the app itself. None of these steps will work. As always, the end user is the one out of money, time and energy.

Absolute garbage. There's nothing like randomly having to go through setup process with this lock every couple of months. The lock is fine as long as you don't plan on using the app. Based on the app itself, my next lock will not be a kwikset. Update 11/25/24 I have attempted to contact customer service as asked, and the automated call system hangs up automatically before I'm able to speak to someone. Good job Kwikset. I fully stand by my 1 star review.

App literally doesn't work anymore. Gives an error message saying, "Failed to Log In An error occurred while processing your request. Ensure that Wi-Fi is turned on with an active internet connection or cellular data is enabled. Please try again later." Automatically without trying to login. Reset my password, uninstalled/reinstalled, nothing works.

How did this app make it out of quality control? It dropped my account linkage on the phone in the last step because of some unacceptable characters in the password. The best I can guess. I am required to do a factory reset! to start over. Yet it accepted the assigned door handle code, so it works. But no wifi. Nice job. No way to change or add pass codes w/o a factory reset.

Play store shows the app was updated to 2.4.0 On Oct. 24. Just tried to access an installed Halo Touchscreen. Screen shows "Status as of Oct. 24 at 8:36 PM No Connection". It remembers the lock, but is not connected. Shows up in the WiFi list of Offline Clients as HALO-GAUX-60. Nearby WiFi is working fine and is connected to other devices. Is there a way to reconnect remotely? I am hundreds of miles away. I have had no connection problems with this product for over two years.

Use to be able to just pair a device and use without issue. Could control my devices remotely (as in from many miles away) without issue. Now? Now the app demands the ability to search for devices. Something it doesn't need, but won't work without. So if I wanted to just use it without Bluetooth, not an option. App still requires you to give it Nearby Devices ability. Something it most certainly does NOT need. Any "Developer" response, plz explain how it needs that to lock my house from afar.

Woke up to see my lock removed from the app. I changed batteries, tried to reconnect the lock to Bluetooth just to end up having to do a factory reset and start all over again. Everything has been deleted. Logs, lock combinations, everything. Now I'm trying to add the codes again and they keep failing to create. Very frustrating after this update. Update to the next day: the lock has disappeared AGAIN from my app. This is preposterous and I will not recommend any Kwikset smart lock to anyone!!!

Edit: App is simple and pretty user friendly. Some items are super intuitive but aren't hard to locate either. Developer was able to provide a portal link to create an account which solves the issue of not being able to create a new account in the app currently (for some reason just displays that you need to be connected to the internet and fails to create, whether you are connected to Wi-Fi or mobile data with or without a VPN).
