the app generally does what it should, but sadly not all the time. given a good quality and enough setting options, the app struggles with recognizing the mic (even if the green light is on). multiple closing and opening the app leads to proper connection - but it's annoying. when mic is recognized and volume peaks while speaking, after pushing the record button it just seems mute (despite a peak within the first second). also here - stooping, deleting, starting over. after some time it works

Records audio just fine, I think, but it has a permissions problem. The app asks for access to my photos (!) which it absolutely does not need. Except it thinks it does in order to save recorded files? Wrong again: other apps can and do ask for the correct permissions to save audio recordings! Shure, you need better Android programmers.

Hello! Motiv is really a great app. It's manual gain control makes it stand out of the crowd of audio recording apps. The quality of the audio is pretty impressive, too. But I was facing a issue, I hope you have noticed it too, that is: when I connect external microphone through 3.5mm to type-c cable, Motiv does not capture audio from that source (although ut shows external mic connected). That's why It's not being possible for me to use such a great app on a device that doesn't have 3.5mm port.

This is the best recording app I have found for my Android phone. However, it is only good for low to medium volume recording. Recording band practice, drums, amplified bass & guitar, loud singing, etc is impossible to do without clipping even on the lowest gain setting. I contacted Shure about this but received no response. I hope Shure fixes this issue in a future update.

Well as a musician I should know the best Mic's. I love this particular one here that I used on my LG, my Google pixel 6 and now the Samsung A32, it has done wonders for me as far as recording & me mixing my music & putting different instruments to my songs. I think it's an excellent Mic & app to use. It's beautiful but for some reason now I'm experiencing a little bug in it or technical difficulty. After I record & hit the play back it stops, it's never done this before. Please check it out!!

I use it to record meetings and my goofing around on a guitar as well as choir performances but the choir performances sound a little distant from my seat in the audience without a microphone. They are just recorded straight to my Samsung S9 and have been doing it for years now. Probably would sound better with a microphone attached to my phone but that takes away some of the utility for me. I like being able to set the gain depending on the surroundings.

Audio quality of the MV88+ microphone is superior to the phone mic. However, the hardware/software combination isn't fully compatible with the OnePlus 6. Selecting different polar patterns has no effect on the mic. If your android phone isn't one of the few listed, I recommend avoiding this mic. as there's no benefit to the higher cost over a rode videomic (for example).

Mic settings not working! I can't customize the settings. It remains in preview mode all the time and it just takes you to a page yo buy more mics🙄ANNOYING...or is that how that works? If it is, that's dumb...because it gives a false illusion like if it was only a little preview for you to play with and not the actual settings you want to adjust.
