11/15/24 The app works better than it used to. Occasionally it stops for a few seconds. 2/24/21: When I'm listening to live radio the audio stops and starts on an annoyingly frequent basis. Please fix!! 9/9/19 There have been more days in the past month when I can't use the app than days when I can. When it works it's great, but these days I can't open it without it crashing

I like the in-app links to news programs from npr, pri, etc. This allows you to replay some programs if you missed the start or were I terrified during normal radio station broadcast. However, I HATE the way the app buffers audio streams, but then randomly dumps the buffered stream and jumps to a different data source WITHOUT MATCHING the location in the playback stream. I know.. . 1st world problems. . . But what an annoying trait! Is there a setting that allows for longer buffer times?

I love KUOW, but here in Everett I can't get a decent signal. So I started using streaming on my phone. That worked pretty well until recently. Now I can't get it to stream whatever is being broadcast at the moment. Now I have to choose a podcast or individual story and then it stops. Not good when I'm working in the kitchen, so I don't listen very often anymore.

Just okay. The graphics are a little cartoonish for a professional news organization, and the UX is pretty confusing. The app seems to be somewhat unstable compared to more general news/streaming aggregator apps, so I often switch from the KUOW app - and listen to KUOW through a different app.

I love KUOW and have been listening every day for years, but the new app had been very disappointing. It constantly disconnects due to a "network error" that only impacts this app, which means I have to keep rejoining and keep missing the stories, shows, and news I was listening to. It's incredibly frustrating, particularly from a station I love.

Works okay. I almost exclusively use the live stream feature. One major point of annoyance -- and what drives my three star score -- is that the stream doesn't automatically pause when Bluetooth disconnects. Instead, it toggles to the device speaker, which breaks UX conventions and is a real pain as I have to manually pause the stream in the app to prevent NPR from mumbling in my pocket.

There's a lot to hear, but also a lot of bugs. Just now it insists there's no on-line connection while all other apps work. Went thru a period where this app took over my phone by playing when turned off, etc. It would be better if the darn thing just played the current programming instead of all the bells & whistles that are full of bugs.

Whenever there's the slightest interruption in a data connection, or when my phone switches from one wifi hotspot to another, the radio feed stops. Sometimes it restarts by itself, but just as often I have to restart the app. And whenever it restarts, it first plays a promo spot for one of the sponsors. Very, very, very frustrating! In fact, I can't use the app as I had hoped: to listen to KUOW when I'm in locations where I can't receive the broadcast. :-(
