NOTE: EDITED REVIEW FOR THE OLD APP. Good for one thing, and that's loading smart card tickets without the need to have to collect them from the station first. And even that took several attempts. Can log in and check account and tickets, so maybe that's two things? Otherwise, crashes often and will not update with journey information. For some things, it redirects you to the website, so it's not that useful, either

Absolute rubbish! I was hoping that the new updated version would be an improvement on the previous version that kept falling over. However, I am now not able to purchase an off-peak travel card 16 days in advance because "there is not enough time to collect my ticket"! Also Trying to add my "Senior Railcard" but the only option is the "16-17" card!

A useful app for booking tickets. it could however do with an order review page before you press pay. Also needing to detail which train you are likely to catch coming back, is off-p utting for new users as you don't actually have to catch that train.

Can't pay with credit or debit card, some times only paypal, sometimes only amazon pay. Can't easily rebuild the ticket, I have to select all of the options again (and this is every month) sometimes I have to reinstall the app in order to get it to do something. Today, after 20 minutes, I finally bought my ticket and it Can't load it onto the card (as usual) and states that I can collect the ticket in 2 hours in Abbey Wood. Where tf is Abbey Wood? I'm in East Croydon.

Update: app now works but took my money without issuing me tickets! Now I'll have to fight for a refund. Don't use the app to buy tickets, use the website. Or use the Trainline app. - - - - Useful app when working. Crashes all the time. Best use the website. This app is useless.

Well done Southern Railway. You've actually acted on the feedback to fix the previously unusable, unstable and infuriating app. This latest update seems to fix most of the problems with the old app. The new UI is better in every way - cleaner, simpler and more intuitive. There's still some lag issues when adding key smartcard tickets but at least the app no longer crashes constantly. Nice work dev team.

easy to use but always double check to make sure you have it right before you go to check out otherwise it was stress you out if you make a mistake singles return as they are roughly the same price

Don't lose the e-mail with the tickets as finding the actual ticket is a nightmare. It was OK then upgraded to difficult latest upgrade has made it almost impossible
