It's a good app showing the fishing areas, conservation areas, and such. The report your catch app doesn't work at all. The species identifier did not work at all. The description and what you can catch, how many you can keep is clear the function of the rules and regs is handy.

the listing for registration is good but do not even try to use the fish id part. itll very unreliable. learn how to id fish from other sources

At first I wasn't sure if I liked the updated version, but so far so good. A very handy reference to keep up to date with all the continually changing regs. My only wish would be that if it senses your location it would just tell you which fish and limits for the sub-region you're in... would require more programming but would make it much more user-friendly.

A delightful resource. A bit annoying that whenever I open it, it updates and makes me wait a few seconds to do so, but also I never worry about changes in the bylaws because it is so constantly updated. Much better than wading into the DFO which is honestly one of the most horrible websites Ive had the misfortune of using. To save me from that alone earns this app many stars.

Latest update fixed my previous issues. Jury is still out. Would be good to see latest fisheries notice on specific area selected. The notices may differ from the base regulations so you still need to go to DFO website. Poor execution of upgrade to the App. Since they upgraded the app to use location services and search feature it has never worked on my Android. I can't even select a location manually from the map. I have uninstalled the App and going back to the DFO website instead.

Much easier to read than the messy government website. Now if you could join forces with say navionics to create sonar charts and tides/ currents combined with area maps and regulations, you'd really have something ...

update!!! workaround found. When you click kn the species and it brings you to a blank page, ick the back button and then look at the bottom and you will be able to click on the species which will take you to the corrext information. App still needs to be fixed though and I hope the gov starts using it to accurately record catches instead of asking anglers to fill out a random survey

This new version does not function. I find it useless. Contacted several friends who use this app. No one can get the information they want and are not happy. Cannot find information on area 17 prawn closure. Need to log in each time. Randomly logs me out. Old version worked perfect.
