I set an alarm for when i am able to access Drops again. you get 5 minutes every 10 hours, unless you pay. But twice a day on average is actually pretty good. considering a subscription. Easy, fast, and i am learning pretty well. easier and more convenient than a class. been dating a Hungarian for a year and a half now and learned about 20 words from her, because she speaks moatly english now and we are so busy all the time especially with a baby. In 20 mins on app i learned 17 more words.

So far it's helpful and fun. I have been learning Hungarian with Drops for almost 3 months. I do it daily and enjoy it, but am finding more as I progress that the phrases they are suggesting I learn aren't very practical. I am looking to learn things I will use when I (Eventually) travel there again, not things that will likely never come up in a general conversation. Still sticking with it... we'll see!

I absolutely adore this app! The set-up, the sounds, the lesson structure, the pictures, and everything else is beautifully programmed! I downloaded this out of curiosity at how it compares to Duo and I prefer this app. I love that I get 5 minutes a day to practice. It keeps it manageable while also keeping me entertained as well as learning and building upon my skills. I look forward to doing this 5 minutes of learning every day!

Cool concept but the app falls short on imperfect learning algorithm as you always have to pick specific topics yourself and it doesn't have a mode to go with you through old or badly memorized vocab. The pictograms are cool for nouns but sometimes confusing for verbs. On top of that, I don't find the pricing adequate.

Drops is the discovery of the year 2019 for me. I've been trying to learn Hungarian since 6 years now and I have made more progress in 2 weeks with Drops, than I have with all other courses together. Before Drops, I never knew where to start. The things that I learnt from other courses always turned out to be useless whenever I was with my Hungarian family-in-law, which was frustrating and demotivating. Now, after only 2 weeks, I'm finally able to communicate with them on a basic level.

I think the amount of words in each category is too limited for the app to be a real benefit. Just completed the body parts section, and I don't even know what a hand or an eye is called in Hungarian. The app would benefit from containing way more words. Especially with the premium subscription being so expensive, I was really expecting more.

They've made it unuseable with the most recent updates to UI and reorganization. I need to drill down five times to find a topic to practice. Continuing a topic that after the reorg of the app is marked as partially done will everytime tell me that I have completed the topic, even though I haven't seen all the words. This apl is a mess. I've dropped my 600+ days streak and will go elsewere for language learning. Edit: 1 star, the app now started resetting the timer in the middle of a session.

Great concept and fun, if limiting in terms of how much learning, and the type of learning prioritised! However, nouns ARE a good way in. To be truly effective you need more unlimited and expansive usage. Hence why I couldn't give 5 stars, but I do recommend this app for beginners.
