Been a subscriber for years and listen to a ton of audiobooks, so I decided to take the plunge. The player doesn't save where I leave off which makes it extremely frustrating to use. Add this to a lack of bookmark option and I'm not sure I'll buy another audiobook, especially with Hoopla and Libby and Audible all working far better. The app itself has some functionality for ordering the monthly books, but the bookshelf feature of the books you ordered is hard to navigate and use.

Terrible for Android Phone. I have not found a way to consistently save when I pause and close down the app. I have to screenshot where I ended and manually move to that place when I restart. Also, when I pause listening, it starts playing again when I receive notification from other apps on my phone. I gave it two stars because it does play the book.

They intentionally lock the ability to cancel behind the desktop version, so you can't cancel from your phone. This is a deceptive practice to keep subscriptions up. Also, the book selection is profoundly narrow. You're much better off going somewhere locally, you'll spend a bit more for a hardcover, but the selection you get to pick from will be worth the slight premium.

Love the service but the app... the audiobook feature sucks. It will close out randomly, and when I go back in, it's forgotten all the progress I've made. So if I haven't been watching the screen to keep track of what chapter I'm on (and how far into it), I have to go through chapter by chapter until I've found my spot. The problem has existed since at least June. Please fix this 😭😭 especially if the only way I'll ever be able to listen to these books I've purchased is through the app.

I downloaded the app to try an audiobook, and I will be deleting it as soon as I finish it. The app is so glitchy, it crashes and closes while I'm using it, or it randomly starts playing when the app isn't even open. I have had to start writing down exactly where I am in the book when I stop listening because the app jumps around in the book whenever I try to listen, sometimes going back 5 minutes, sometimes full chapters. Terrible app, would not recommend.

BOTM is a great monthly subscription with lots of genres and book options for everyone obsessed with reading. You can grab just one book or 5 books, and if you are backed up on reading or just taking a break, you can skip a month. Keep up with your yearly reading goal, rate books, and make a TBR list. I haven't tried this feature out yet bet their is also audio book options if you like listening to books instead of reading them. The app keeps track of your subscription, payment, and shipping.

I love this subscription and I've been a member since 2017. I've never really had issues with the app, just a few crashes here and there. That is, until I got an audiobook. The app constantly crashes while I'm trying to listen, which is the only place you can access the audiobook. If the app can't handle playing the audiobook then I should be able to download it to my phone, I did buy the book after all. It certainly made up my mind to never get an audiobook through this app again.

Update 10/8. I took a break from BOTM because while I love to read, I don't have a lot of spare time and therefore wanted to leverage the audiobooks but the interface was poor. I'm sad to say it's far WORSE While I love BOTM as a whole, the audiobook function on the app is the worst I've ever dealt with. Constantly jumping back huge chunks meaning now I almost always screenshot where I stop because it's so incredibly poor. Please, BOTM. If you want to keep my money, FIX THIS HORRIBLE INTERFACE!
