Edit: 3/5/25: new update erased my collections again, plus the ai models! app IS NOT PRODUCTION READY Not that it ever worked, but the latest update wiped out the collections i spent weeks organizing: 50k screenshots. I'm on a pixel 9 pro xl, it's literally built for the phone, and it's why i upgraded. I've had the phone since SEPTEMBER and it's processed <9% of my screenshots in 5 months. and it still can't find an indexed screenshot even if i tell it the exact date!

Unnecessary, inconvenient app. I can't find if it's even possible to put my screenshots back into google Photos. Screenshots no longer show up in my gallery when I'm texting so I can't easily send screenshots to other people. The AI addition is also entirely unnecessary and is more annoying than anything else. Even when you turn it off, every time you try to do anything on the app it practically begs you to turn the AI features back on. Please let me save screenshots to Photos again, please.

Every time I take new screenshots, this app spawns an unending notification, e.g. "adding 3 of 4 to Screenshots" that persists for hours until I swipe it away. Not a good start for a new auto-installed app that I don't even use. I could see it being handy as the AI summaries/context improves though.

This app addresses a really big problem and I can't wait to see it improve. I think a useful feature would be to automatically make collections of similar screenshots. This will make it easier to review, delete or keep information. Also if the app finds dates it can create a notification to ask if the user wants to add it to their calendar even if the calendar app is closed.

I just bought a Pixel 9 today and opened this app and it's stuck Downloading Pixel AI models. I've tried clearing app storage and rebooting and waiting 5+ minutes after rebooting. Other AI features like Call Notes seem to have enabled without issue (but I haven't tested them actually working yet). I'm pretty discouraged about a brand new flagship Pixel 9 having an issue like this with a pre-installed app.

it's too soon for this app, it won't stop running in the background. I will have to remove it. ALSO, ITS HORRIBLE NOT BEING ABLE TO CONTROL WHICH IMAGES GO WHERE AND WHY. (when I edit and delete in the Pixel Screenshots app, I still find copies in Photos later on ... exactly the opposite of what Google has trained us to expect btwn apps). its so obvious they're just trying to fill up the "free storage" space faster ... and get us all hooked on subscription storage PER GOOGLE ACCOUNT.

one of the reasons I take screenshots is to zoom in at things I can't see clearly. but with this app that is impossible to do right after taking a screenshot. I cannot pinch and zoom on the image. I need to open the gallery, find the picture and zoom it!

This app is such a pointless and useless waste of time. If I want to see a screenshot, I want it to be as big as my screen. I also don't care about AI or adding notes. You'd be much more efficient putting screenshots back into photos and adding a menu button or a floating icon in the bottom corner like Gemini in messages.
