Love home exchange. However the app never recognizes my searches. Even Paris, France. I have to scroll over the world map (if the nap will load, which is rare) and zoom in on the city I want to search. I should be able to type in the city name in the search bar, but it never recognizes any cities. In response to home exchange's response to my review: the cities rarely pop up in autofill. I can type Paris, France and nothing pops up.

We have been home exhangers for over 20 years. It is our favorite way to travel. It was a bit more intimate when we didn't use points, it was a home for a home, days for days, not value based. I see added benefit of the points now, but creatively, we've done exchanges similar without points. The trust factor gets skewed with points, as many travelers seem to only want to spend points. I pray it doesn't become a glorified VRBO or AirBnb, by making points available for the profit of the company.

This app is usually great. Home exchange is fantastic. There are a couple of things that bug me. I can't find "My Settings" on the app for example and have to go to the website, also when I check my messages, unless I press right at the top of the message, it takes me to the following one which can be frustrating.

Hate GuestofaGuest taking over Homeexchange. So many things don't work properly, and the whole idea of points vs easy/clear balloons is a mess. The points do not reflect the values properly at all. Forcing people to jump through hoops to exchange points that they agreed on is asinine. Starting to charge for points and retaining the $s is sleazy. The whole acquisition is a huge mess. Also, the app keeps on hanging, then kicking me out. Cant translate messages, so have to continuously ask for it

The first year subscript is expensive, then they lower it, so only good if you use the app. If you have a home in a good spot you get inundated with contact even if you are not advertising. They took a payment from me after I had cancelled my subscription as I couldnt independently unassign my cc. While they accepted their error, they didnt fully refund me. I dont recommend.

Update. I use the app very often and can tell that is works fine now. Previous review: I noticed that I can't select text in reviews panel. Lot of reviews in new system are in different languages and require translations. It is impossible to translate now as the app does not allow to copy text. Please fix. Samsung S9+

Probably the best thing I've ever joined. I'm only half way into the first year and it's already paid for itself. The initiative is brilliant and the community is truly lovely. The app is mostly alright, takes a bit of getting used to. I'd like a better way of organising my messages

Forced to scroll by finger to look the photos 1 by 1 it's really annoying. (Get tired of swiping 200 times just to look at 10 houses)! Put 4 photos on the screen so it's easier to understand quickly the house. I told this months ago but still no change.
