UPDATING: I guess the lack of notifications doesn't matter to the app developer. No fix or improvement. Still disappointed. 🤬 When I installed this a year ago, the app would push out a notification when my gate opened or closed. About 3 months ago, it stopped sending notifications. When I check the app under my notifications, it now says that it does not send them. Very disappointed in this change.

App works once you go thru several rounds of connection attempts. Took me about 2.5 hours over 2 days. I've successfully connected other devices to my 2.4 band connection in a snap. So I don't think the issue was with my wifi. Also it only send email notifications now. Very odd and antiquated. But it works well enough to open and close the gate.

The app works and controls the new gate pretty good. Issues below: 1 - Equipment uses VERY old legacy wifi that ONLY works on 2.4 Ghz. What this means is if you have any modern wifi equipment (all use dual band or more) you will have extreme trouble getting the app to connect/function at all. You MUST separate the 2.4 band or it won't work, period. 2 - No integration with Google Home or Alexa. Not being able to use my voice or to automate the gate by crossing a geofence is ridiculous.

installation and operation is easy, intuitive and a snap. we have everything in our house on wifi (pool, a/c, sprinkler controllers, lights, security) and this module and it's app was the absolutely easiest to I stall, link up, and operate. my only criticism is with the gate status part of the app. The status text there is so light that it's barely readable on a cellphone. Great price too! The gate is very far from my router but the model picks up an extender signal easily.

When installed back in February, it worked great. Then all of a sudden I had to close and reopen the app to be able to open and close the sliding gate. Then one day my internet went down and ever since then, no one at my house can't seem to Bluetooth the system to their cell phone and the app is unable to add the sliding gate system. I had to buy 2 hand held remotes for the household to open the sliding gate.

Can't seem to connect. I received a message saying the app wasn't connected by bluetooth. I tried doing that but it doesn't connect. The app seems to have added the operator via WiFi, but it's showing as offline with no functions working.

EDIT... Please fix Notifications compatibility with Android 13 Update. As of now, notifications from the Viking Monitor app are not allowed. No longer can gate operator functions be monitored by notifications or alerts. As of 6/2/2024 App Notifications still not fixed!

Needs an update desperately. Works until it doesn't, the GUI is old and buttons are not responsive, and no new features in years.
