The app is almost unusable in the landscape orientation. The page view can not be zoomed sufficiently for comfortable reading. In the article view, the text occupies the central 1/3rd of the screen, leaving vast empty areas. Text selection has been disabled in the article view. All updates are now forced - the moment a new version is available, it stop working. Even if I am in the middle of the commute, and have to update using my mobile quota. Verschlimmbesserung at its best.

(June 2021)So glad I stumbled across Tagesspiegel. It's right at the top of the European newspaper tree. Its in-depth analysis is clear and well-presented. Priceless during the pandemic. (26 Aug 2021): it just gets better. A lot of info and perspectives I have not seen elsewhere. My German is improving...(28/11/21) they keep asking me to evaluate the ap. My opinion has not changed! Ads experience? Totally unobtrusive.

The app feels cheap and the notification options are not working properly. I only enabled to get one notification per day when the paper is out and I still get tons of notifications daily.

I am a subscriber to NYT and Washington Post. Each cost me about 6 USD per month, and I get unlimited access to all content. Both have signed up millions to their service and have gained high ad revenue in return. Your subscription is too expensive in the long run.

If you create your account with Google, you cannot sign into the app with Google, you must in fact have used a password and email to register. This makes it hard to cancel your subscription. Maybe try calling the customer service number? Nobody will ever answer. Send an email? Nope. I hope you like paying for subscriptions you can't use and can't cancel! Absolute trash User experience, not recommended.
