Do not use this app. It's been abandoned by the developer(s). It used to work so well, I paid for the lifetime version, now it simply freezes when opening and no amount of uninstalling and reinstalling will fix it. Luckily, my previous colour scheme was through the built in pixel colour picker, so I'm not stuck with whatever the app was on last. Real shame how this app died

Used to really like this app and used it regularly, now it no longer even opens properly. The opening page flashes up and stays there without any further action, resulting in the inability to load to app. I have tried it in a variety of ways and still no response. I finally closed it my subscription because it's now useless on my Google Pixel 8 Pro. I'm open for suggestions if they exist. I got tired of paying for months waiting for the app the be fixed, but that seems not to be happening.

After you start using the app your phone's default adaptive colour palette won't work. The app stopped working and started to freeze. I uninstalled and reinstalled the repainter, but still nothing. My phone was stuck in one theme. The only way to fix this was to factory reset my phone. Even after that my adaptive material you was still not working. Not until I reinstalled the repainter again. I don't recommend this app to anyone. The changes are permanent.
MePs “realME”
Unfortunately, there is a huge deal breaker when using this app on Android 14. Auto rotation is lagging badly! It causes a black screen and stutter each time the screen is rotated, which make the app completely unusable! Paid for Pro, but now I have to uninstall it due to this reason until a fix is done! 👎

(without root) not quite the direct control I really want, but still miles above the default color picker. this essentially lets you choose the reference color for 'material you' to work from, rather than crossing your fingers it pulls a good reference from your wallpaper. I had a little trouble with the wireless debugging setup. turns out you need to swipe away the 'connection successful' notification before going back into the repainter app. after that it works flawlessly.

Kind of broke the whole theme setting for me. The app did let me choose custom themes, but I didn't care to have it after awhile so I deleted it. After deleting, it seems the ability to change my theme through the settings doesn't work quite the same as it used to. I can still set color themes (thank goodness), but app icons are no longer changed to match the color scheme and the color pallete option is always set to off. It's too bad this glitches out your system. Pretty sure I'll have to reset

I revisited the app and revise my review: There's a lifetime subscription available for an okay price, so you only have pay once. The setup process is easy once you have setup Shizuku on Android 11 or newer. It works pretty well and you don't need root, adb or a computer to make it work. Finally, you can use vibrant theme colors of your choice or dozens of presets and are not limited to Google's odd choice of pastel colors.

I really like this app, however there are only a couple of things I'm not fond about. I really wish the custom colors I pick are what get applied rather than whatever is close. Also, most of the time when I update the theme, not all of the icons change, which is the most annoying part. Otherwise, I love the UI, I love the simplicity of how it works.
