I went back to the old app for now. There are too many things about this new version that I don't like and missing features. 1) notifications stay in the top phone bar even when read. (I will take the old apps glitch of always unread "skip to top" over this) 2) can't customize the notification sound for the app, a basic feature I heavily rely on. 3) no link previews 4) no chat search function for previous content of any kind Overall a poor experience for me.

Awesome interface as it's simple and quite satisfied with the app as even it's open source and doesn't ask from phone no., these features of which I have selected this app but One problem that is coming is actually we can't share multiple(more than one) media i.e., images, files, videos more from the app within so this is thing on which I would like you to focus and resolve as soon as possible otherwise it's the best app ever I have used in my life which on just email address!!! First of all thank you for this app. It has helped me bring all my messaging apps together. This app is also a great improvement over the old Element app. Only one feedback is to add Change Space section. This tab is helpful to group my chats as right now they are all over the place. Cheers

Why the verification of contacts feature is missing? Cuz I can't verify a user they can't text! This app is basically useless. Please add that feature

A great more private alternative to WhatsApp. Was able to exchange messages, pictures and videos quickly between UK & Africa with no glitches.

Still not a full replacement for the current Element app. The support for threads is half-baked – they look like replies and cannot be started. On the other hand, the experience is definitely snappier and device verification worked on the first try, which is a huge improvement not only over the beta versions, but many other Matrix clients. It's definitely usable as a replacement for WhatsApp or Signal.

The listing on here would have you believe that this is a fully functional Matrix client, and it just isn't. The big USP of Element X, when compared to the Element, is support for Sliding Sync. Other than that, Element X lacks many basic features that Element has. I feel like when someone accidentally installs this instead of Element, that might give them a completely wrong, bad impression of what it's like to be in the Matrix universe. Make this invite-only so people know what they are getting.

This app forces the server to have sliding sync, which has been in development for over a year. Unfortunately due to former design decisions by the Matrix team, servers on Element One (a PAID service hosted by Element themselves) don't support sliding sync, and thus can't be used with this app. As a user, I really shouldn't have to think about these things -- at this point, however, a buggy Matrix experience is something I've come to expect. I pity any non tech-saavy people who have to figure this nonsense out.
