It's fantastic... When I remember to use it! This app is an ingenious infusion of AI and some huge LLM's. I have been impressed with it, but it IS more for someone that has at least a little bit more late-basic speaking to intermediate speaking skills. Otherwise, it has been an awesome tool to practice, and it's WAY cheaper than paying a tutor several times per week to practice speaking a new language. Impressive overall and worth the $$.

I tried out the service as they finally offer a free trial, and was extremely disappointed. The tutor would often switch languages mid-conversation to something that wasn't even related to English even though my language was clearly set as English. In addition, they charged my credit card the day before the trial ended, which is unacceptable. Gemini Live offers a MUCH better experience for free. Do not waste your money.

There isn't a way from what I can tell, to report bugs, & for ex., after having used the app a handful of times (short ones at that), this time resulted in a decreasingly effective performance. Audio playback stops working. I click "help" to go to FAQs (only 2 exist at this time regarding "technical" aspects, and this issue being one of those. The answer/troubleshooting is ok, but none seem to fix things. Seems to me that this should have fewer bugs/issues; otherwise, the app is ok/has potential

I think its a fantastic tool, but it is riddled with many bugs. Today the text are not read out automatically anymore. Other days the speech recognition fails and transcribes what I said in another language. The correction style (Ask to repeat) has worked only on two messages so far, asking my teacher to do it doesn't help either. The speech Synthesis for the female Greek teacher changes voices, sometimes from one sentence to the next. I hope this gets more stable so I can give it five stars.

Trying to learn Japanese. I ask the AI teacher "please instruct me in English how to say Japanese phrases." Text conversation turns to English. I ask "How do I say (insert desired phrase) in Japanese?" The text conversation then turns completely into kanas that I cannot read. Is this app actually for beginners? Or is it only for people a familiar with the languages like the features seem to require? My word, this is making me want to do Duolingo again.

Very inconsistent. The app is all about speaking a foreign language and getting instruction on speaking that language better. When I speak in that foreign language, the app translates what I say into English and then sends it to the app for analysis. I'm constantly being told I am speaking the wrong language when I am doing nothing wrong

Kinda sad I spent money on this. I can see how the conversation is supposed to be personal, but 'the teacher' kept trying to leave the current conversation to go to another topic. At one point I got caught in a loop being told that I was pronouncing chocolate wrong in Chinese, it gave me the hint of Chow-Kuh-Lee and then said "It's not Caio-Kelly" I went to Google translate and saw it's more like Tshao-Ka-Lee, and when I said that.. well "It's not Jao-calee" I guess my mic sucks too much?

I have provided my credit card details and am now trying to access the app through Google. However I am now in a loop talking about Google rather than getting on with the actual app
