I find this app incredibly frustrating to use. Every single word on the page seems to be hyperlinked (with no visual indication that it is), so using your finger to scroll down feels like treading through a minefield. If you accidentally tap any word, it will take you to the definition of that word. Pressing back after an accidental touch doesn't lead you back to the previous word too, which doesn't make any sense to me. Why couldn't they make the search via long press instead of tap?

I love it. Except maybe for a few things: 1. Its moronic use of a non-standard phonemic notation as opposed to IPA; 2. Touching any word – and I mean ANY word, not just links – will take you to its definition. It's just bad UX: if it isn't a link, it shouldn't work as one. That wouldn't be so annoying if it weren't for... 3. Hitting back button doesn't take you to your previous word, it takes you to the home page instead. You need to browse the Recents section to resume from where you left off.

I use this dictionary a lot, and I like it for the most part. It's super handy for finding definitions and showing your friends that they're pronouncing a word wrong. The thesaurus feature is cool as well. The one issue I have with it is that when I'm searching for a word, the keyboard will randomly collapse while I'm typing, and I'll accidentally press a random word from the list. I don't know if it's a bug in the app or maybe just my device.

Weird bug .... but when first launching the app and tapping into the search 🔍 bar, the keyboard comes up and then automatically closes after 2-3 seconds. It only happens once after a fresh launch, but it's INCREDIBLY annoying because it basically screws up whatever you were trying to type! Also, the mechanism for switching to the thesaurus while viewing a word isn't immediately obvious at first – it was years before I noticed it down at the bottom! One problem keeping me from giving a 5-star rating is that the sensitivity/delay when touching the screen is too sensitive/prompt so often times while trying to scroll, I accidently end up pressing a word instead which takes me to the definition of this word with no option to even go back to the original word except by searching the word a second time.

Great dictionary, absolutely! But using the app reveals a glaring user-experience issue (on a phone): touching a word in an entry flings you off into the entry for the word you touched. That's nice when you want it (yet I rarely need it), but when you're scrolling down, reading the entry of the word you're interested in, it's irritating when you accidentally touch a word within the definition. Tap and hold rather than tap and go would be better, in my opinion.

It is annoyingly easy to select a word while scrolling through a definition, and then you inadvertently jump to the definition for that word. And the tabs at the top of recent words is gone, making it more difficult to go back. Any effort to address this? UPDATE: Still no effort to fix this issue? This is obviously something that changed in the May 2023 update. Heck, I'd be happy with going back to the way it was before that. Can we at least do that until you guys can figure it out?

Apparently weather you pay as I did or you use the free version , the app needs internet access. Whatever word you put in, the app will continue to say loading until you allow it to get net access. I bought this in 2015 and back then whatever word you looked up popped up quickly with the meaning . I paid for it for that convenience but now it just annoys me. The problem stated above has been solved and I'm comfortable once more so 5 stars
