I've taken a lot of online college coursework and this is my least favorite app so far. On mobile, the chapters bounce around and reload when you leave the app and come back. The embedded videos are not centered well and sometimes mess with navigation as well. There is no read aloud feature. On PC, you are not able to put the screen in dark mode, and there's no easy way to see which assignments are completed.

I really dont like the new update they did. In my class we use it as in class points for showing up which is good but we also use it as a study guide. With this new update it takes so long to go over one chapter because each chapter has it's own questions and you have to unduvuallly click in and out of the questions making it more time consuming. The older tophat app made one chapter a cohesive easy way to study and go through it all in one swoop.

The idea behind this app is cool. You can submit answers to quizzes or questions asked in a lecture anonymously, however this app is super buggy and sometimes the keyboard function doesn't work. Also, if you want to renew your subscription then you have to go through the website to do it because the app only let's you see when your subscription expires. It's pretty obvious that convenience and easy to use were ideas that were not thought of when this app was made.

Awful app and website overall. There's no warning for assignment updates, things disappear and reappear close to or long after a deadline, and text boxes swallow up what you're typing all the time. I have to be careful not to submit half of what I wanted to because it lagged and erased a paragraph. And to top it off, I have to constantly check the thing or else I miss out on assignments and lose valuable points. I can't believe the university approved this expensive, useless thing.

It crashes all the time, it often stops connecting unless I uninstall and reinstall, and I think it killed Google Play on my tablet somehow. After trying to uninstall and reinstall it one time whenever I opened up Google Play it was just a white screen. I had to uninstall and reinstall GP's updates to fix it, but it still doesn't reinstall on my tablet anymore. Edit: Nothing was loading, and it said I couldn't log in with my credentials (which I've memorized from logging in every class session after reinstalling), and I reset the password twice but it still.... won't....let me in. I hate this app with all of my soul!

This is quite literally paying to be marked as present. Sure it comes with other features, but I can do all of that with free programs. My biggest issues is that you have a buy subscriptions regularly, if it was like buying a clicker, where you only ever pay once, I may have given this 3 stars. I hope that I never have to support this rip off of a company ever again.

The app looks great at first; however, it starts giving you problems. These include not connecting to their servers or not submitting homework or inclass answers. The browser version was very slow for me too. This made it very frustrating and almost impossible to turn in some homework assignments either on time or at all. I would not recommend the use of the app or Top Hat in general.

The app initially worked great but started showing it's flaws and shortcomings, when you launch the app with a weak connection it never connects to the tophat servers even if you connect to a faster WiFi thereafter. I tried force stopping the app and restarting it again, it never reconnected to the servers and i'd end up scrambling to take my laptop out to answer the question. Absolutely horrendous experience. I do not recommend.
