Markor --- The best mobile note taking and text editor app I've *ever* come across. The notes are stored as **actual text files** in your file system and -- *as a competent file explorer* -- you can sort your notes easily from the app. This is great for transfering files between devices. It also can render a variety of text files formats, like **markdown** so that you can write plaintext stuff that looks really cool.

Markor serves as the only app I need for text-related editing on Android. It handles plain text jobs at least as well as any of the dedicated text editors I've tried and it's as easy a Markdown editor as I've found. Because the developer has asked for suggestions, I'll mention that Markor could implement some of its file management features a little bit more intuitively -- it's a little bit hard to figure out how to access directories on the SD Card, etc.

Possibly the best text editor on Google Android 12?... I only say that because I seem to remember that occasionally I can do formatted text: colors and bold, and stuff like that, like Gmail can❗ When I read the first four paragraphs of Markor's What's New section I almost spurt in joy. But I only use it a few times a year because it's not intuitive. (I miss Windows Wordpad's RTF❗) I can't figure out how to work Markor. Where is the Operator's Manual? The User's Manual?

EXCELLENT!! Functions as old school text editor. No more typical notes-style c&p oom errors. Good excuse to learn markdown. Read cli style and less gui/ikon(sic😱)/search/permissions encumbrances. My Android 11 latest version has no customization of menu "action order" permissions available. I suppose it's the very limited GUI Android file management functions.

Markor is a great notes app. I wanted an app that supported markdown with math expressions, and this one did not disappoint. I especially like the ability to write in JavaScript to make notes ineractive. The app comes in handy as a plain text editor too. Since it saves things as normal text files, I can use Syncthing to sync my notes between my devices.

I haven't used it much, but from what I can see it has every feature a unix lover could want, and most everything else besides. It's easy to sync files in any way imaginable, it's customizable to a pretty reasonable degree, and it's editor is simple but versatile, letting you do anything with plaintext, but provides non-intrusive buttons nonetheless. The fact that it's free in every conceivable way, even without ads, is the icing on the cake.

2021 original review: Really enjoying this app so far. Using it as a text editor to maintain some simple notes and a todo list. Syncing with Dropbox using Dropsync. The dark theme is a welcome feature. Update: 2024-05-04 I like the quick access to todo.txt. The quick note feature is very convenient too. I appreciate the ability to create multiple subdirectories to manage my files.

I had been a long-time NoteEverthing user, but when I got my latest phone, it didn't transfer and was no longer on the app store. So, I was looking for a note app that could import all my existing text file notes, support a folder hierarchy, and not harass me with ads.. I eventually found Markor. Sadly, I had to recreate my folder hierarchy, but since Markor uses Android's own file structure, it wasn't too big a hassle. Plus, it makes it simple to back-up my entire note hierarchy to my PC.
